AMMAN, (PIC)-- Khaled Mishaal, the head of Hamas political bureau, stated Saturday, at a memorial ceremony held in Amman to honour his late father, that his Movement is adherent to the Palestinian refugees’ right of return and rejects "the alternative homeland" scheme.

He was quoted by the Jordanian Dostour newspaper as saying that Hamas rejects resettlement of Palestinian refugees in the host countries and rejects the "alternative homeland" scheme, which is marketed by Zionists, stressing that "politically, Palestine is Palestine and Jordan is Jordan."

“I reassure the leaders and people of Jordan that Hamas will only be in the interest of Jordan. We do understand well the international and regional equations,” Mishaal emphasized.

He also underlined that Hamas will not allow any party to pass any Zio-American schemes at the expense of Jordan, stressing that Hamas was not interested in creating any kind of divisions in Jordan or interfering in the internal affairs of Jordan, whether at the Islamic movement level or at any other level, and that the movement would only like to see national unity in Jordan.

Mishaal stressed that Hamas is committed to Palestinian rights, Jerusalem and the right of return and said that the present rift on the Palestinian arena was not natural and his movement was sparing no effort to achieve unity.

He expressed his gratitude to the Jordanian leadership and people and said: "Jordan will remain in our hearts," stressing his and his movement's commitment to the security and interests of Jordan.
