NEGEV, (PIC)-- Palestinian lawmaker in Israeli jails Ali Romaneen strongly denounced Abbas’s security apparatuses for detaining his wife Rowan Ibrahim and interrogating her for more than three hours.

In a letter leaked from the Negev prison on Wednesday, Romaneen explained that his wife was aboard a taxi traveling from Al-Awja to Jericho when PA security men stopped the car for four hours alleging that there was a problem in the car, but after that elements from the preventive security showed up and took her to their headquarters in Jericho.

He added that they searched her bag and purse and then interrogated her about the names of Palestinian lawmakers who visited her home to express their solidarity with her husband in jail as well as about the sources of the family’s income before releasing her.

Romaneen said that what happened with his wife was an assault on the dignity of all Palestinian lawmakers and their diplomatic immunity.

For their part, the Palestinian ministers and lawmakers in Israeli jails deplored the preventive security forces affiliated with Fatah for forcing the wife of MP Romaneen under threat to accompany them to their headquarters in Jericho for investigation.

In a statement leaked from Israeli jails, the Palestinian officials condemned these practices as a flagrant violation of all moral, national and religious values and a departure from civility and decency.

The officials added that such immoral practices would have never happened if they had not been given a green light by senior officials in the Palestinian Authority (PA) in Ramallah.

In another related context, the Hamas-affiliated Omamah website reported Wednesday that Abbas’s militias kidnapped two Palestinian ex-detainees who spent more than 10 years in Israeli jails in Al-Khalil and Jenin.

Abbas’s militias also transferred a Palestinian prisoner called Hamid Al-Kawni to the national hospital in Jenin as a result of his exposure to excruciating torture, the family of the prisoner said.

For their part, Israeli troops kidnapped a Palestinian student studying at Al-Najah university called Islam Al-Shoeibi who was released recently from Abbas’s jails.
