DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Khaled Mishaal, the head of Hamas’s political bureau, on Friday called on the Arab countries to reconsider the option of negotiation with Israel and take a decision that puts things into perspective during their upcoming summit in Libya.

“You gave settlement [solutions] an adequate opportunity and it is time to reconsider our Arab options and think calmly about a way out as the Aqsa Mosque and holy sites are still being targeted and the Israeli crimes are ongoing against the Palestinian people,” Mishaal said in a speech aired by Al-Aqsa satellite channel.

“It is your own choice and call. We want a free decision correcting things, and I say you will not regret doing the right thing in the best interest of your nation,” the Hamas political leader added.

Mishaal stressed that the Palestinian people do not want occupation or any kind of custody, but they seek freedom, self-determination and a will to express themselves freely.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Bahar, the first deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council, stated on Friday that the Movement of Hamas will never give up its adherence to the path of its founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin until the liberation of Palestine.

During a ceremony organized on the anniversary of Sheikh Yassin’s martyrdom, Dr. Bahar highlighted that the roots which the Sheikh deeply planted in the ground have blossomed and became much stronger than before.
