Hamas: Fayyad must stand trial

Fayyad is selling the refugees at a cheap price

DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Ezzet Al-Resheq, political bureau member of Hamas movement, has expressed utter dismay and repulsion at the statement of Salam Fayyad, the premier of the illegitimate government in Ramallah, to Hebrew daily Ha'aretz.

Resheq, in a press statement on Saturday, said that Fayyad's statement reflects the Ramallah authority's national degradation.

When Fayyad declares his support for Israel as a Jewish state, he does not only drop the Palestinian refugees' right of return but paves the way before Israel to expel all Palestinians in Palestine occupied in 1948, the Hamas leader explained.

He added, "And when Fayyad calls for a compromise solution regarding occupied Jerusalem, he declares the Zionist occupation's right to rob and annex part of occupied Jerusalem that probably could include the Aqsa Mosque and the Old City".

Resheq said that Fayyad openly gave up the right of return for millions of refugees to their homeland.

Fayyad said that he was preparing the infrastructure for absorbing those refugees in parts of the 1967 occupied land, Resheq pointed out, charging that Fayyad was thus conspiring against those refugees and selling them at a "cheap price" other than extending great services to the "Zionist enemy".
The Hamas leader underlined that Fayyad only represents himself, recalling that he was imposed by Israel and the American administration that linked extending financial assistance to the PA with the presence of Fayyad in the Palestinian government.

Fayyad's speculation of a Palestinian state by mid 2011 went in harmony with Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu's program of a disarmed state without sovereignty or independent will, Resheq said, adding that Fayyad was trying to deceive our people with trivial improvements and a number of economic projects and promises of welfare in a bid to deviate their path away from resistance and liberation.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Bahar, the first deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council, described Fayyad as part of the "Zionist project".

He said that Fayyad's declared preparedness to attend Israel's so called "independence" celebrations constituted a "major national crime".

The Ahrar movement in Gaza said in a statement on Saturday that Fayyad did not represent the Palestinian people, describing his role in the West Bank as "treacherous".

Dr. Aziz Dwaik, the PLC speaker, told Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper published on Saturday that Fayyad's statement violated international resolutions that guaranteed the return of refugees to their homeland.

Khaled Al-Batesh, an Islamic Jihad leader, said that the right of return was not for negotiations, and strongly condemned Fayyad's statement in this regard.

He said that any settlement void of the right of return was null and void.

Jamil Majdalawi, politburo member of the popular front for the liberation of Palestine, said that Fayyad's statement was not worth comment or response, adding that any Palestinian official hinting at giving up the right of return should be brought to account.

Hamas: Fayyad must stand trial

DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Hamas said that Salam Fayyad, the illegitimate premier of the PA government in Ramallah, did not represent the Palestinian people.

It said in a statement on Saturday that Fayyad constantly displayed his willingness to liquidate the Palestine cause, recalling that he was gradually eliminating the Palestinian people's inalienable rights topped by Jerusalem, refugees and borders.

The movement underlined that the Palestinian legislative council did not endorse Fayyad's government and hence it was illegal, adding that Fayyad whose hands were stained with the suffering and blood of thousands of kidnapped persons and martyrs in the West Bank must stand trial.

Hamas asserted its insistence on liberating all Palestinian lands and holy shrines and on return of refugees to their towns and lands from where they were forcibly evicted, adding that they were entitled to compensations for the suffering of tens of years.

The movement said that it would foil all attempts to tamper with the Palestinian people's rights, and asked all Palestinian factions to stand united in face of "conspiracies".
