Is Zionism now redundant:???

Jonathan Hoffman of the Zionist Federation made the admission that Zionism is now redundant:

"
Zionism was about the granting of a homeland for Jews after centuries of antisemitism. That was achieved in 1948. For functional purposes the word is now redundant. The Israel-bashers use it as a word of abuse though".

Morphing Zionism

http://poetryforpalestine.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!92AA638F9B6EA940!5837.entry

The imperceptible transformation of zionists plans might be difficult to detect, yet for an attentive observer the signs are too many to be ignored. Modest yet noticeable changes in their presentation, speeches, discussions, arguments, writings, and activities in the recent years, the new trend manifests itself in the mushrooming of “peace” websites, “peace” organizations, “peace conferences”, “peace” radios, and “interfaith” groups through which they are pretending to shed the gown of zionism in a futile attempt to divert attention from its exposed ugly face, making an ideological jump from political zionism, into the softer, more presentable face of cultural and religious zionism, which for us, the dispossessed, it means the FINAL PUSH into total control and seize of our land and property by sneaky means of smooth talks of "peace", "love", “culture”, "commonality", “harmony”, "humanity" and “Arab hospitality”

The think-tanks of Zionism, appreciative that the goal of zionists (i.e the creation of a Jewish state on the STOLEN land of Palestine) has been achieved, sets its next steps to anchor, protect and fossilize this foreign body of colonizers in the land of Palestine and to secure their future.

The following excerpts and my subsequent comment gives an insight as to why I think that the morphing Zionism is more detrimental to right of Palestinians and the just cause of Palestine than militant Zionism. In the former, all the consolidations of Zionist aims and dreams would be achieved with the endorsement and support of the so called “anti-zionists”.

Post-Zionism refers to the opinions of some Israeli, diaspora Jews and others, particularly in academia, that Zionism has fulfilled its ideological mission with the creation of modern State of Israel in 1948 and that Zionist ideology should therefore be considered to be at an end. The term is also used by right-wing Jews to refer to the left wing of Israeli politics in light of the Oslo Accords.

"I am a human being, I am a Jew and I am an Israeli. Zionism was an instrument to move me from the Jewish state of being to the Israeli state of being. I think it was Ben-Gurion who said that the Zionist movement was the scaffolding to build the home, and that after the state's establishment it should be dismantled."

"Already at the First Zionist Congress, Herzl's Zionism was victorious over the Zionism of Ahad Ha'am. I think that the 21st century should be the century of Ahad Ha'am. We have to leave Herzl behind and move to Ahad Ha'am."

As head of the Jewish Agency, he worked to recover Jewish property lost during the Holocaust, and in the transfer of ca. half a million predominantly Jewish citizens from the Commonwealth of Independent States (the former Soviet Union) to Israel.

".......as speaker of the Knesset he served as interim President of Israel for 20 days"

Ahad Ha'am

Asher Zvi Hirsch Ginsberg (18 August 1856 - 2 January 1927), primarily known by his Hebrew name and pen name, Ahad Ha'am, (Hebrew: אחד העם, lit. one of the people, Genesis 26:10), was a Hebrew essayist, and one of the foremost pre-state Zionist thinkers. He is known as the founder of Cultural Zionism. With his secular vision of a Jewish "spiritual center" in Palestine he confronted Theodor Herzl. Unlike Herzl, the founder of political Zionism, Ha'am strived for "a Jewish state and not merely a state of Jews."[1]

==========================================================

"He believed that rather than aspiring to establish a "National Home" or state immediately, Zionism must aspire to bring Jews to Palestine gradually, making it a cultural center. At the same time, Zionism must inspire a revival of Jewish national life abroad; that would help to bring about a Jewish majority in Palestine. Then and only then will the Jewish people be strong enough to assume the mantle of building a nation state"

Those who support the permanent stay of Jewish zionist in the land of Palestine (providing they abandon Zionism and may be even concede Palestinians’ equal rights), do not realize that by doing so they are finishing the job neatly for the zionists and putting the cherry on the zionist-project pie; by giving them the approval and moral justification to keep hold of land and property acquired by unethical and illegal means

The lawsuits on behalf of Jewish people who lost property in Europe during WW2 are ongoing, almost seventy years after, yet many of our supporters cringe at the fact that we are entitled to the same, because the reinstatement and total restoration of our rights would effectively mean a full restitution of land and property from the Jewish zionist colonizers back to the original and legitimate Palestinian owners.

for me as a Palestinian as it ought to be for anyone who cares for Justice and Peace, the idea that there would be a "right" for some people to keep land and property acquired by military conquest and ethnic cleansing of genocidal proportion, is not only a regressive monstrosity, but it is also in full contravention with a set of laws emerged precisely out of WW2, and in full contradiction with any sense of moral principles. God is not a real estate agent, nor is God a warlord, hence the "right" of Jewish colonizer is simply non-existent, whether they utter the racist "Zionist" ideology, or the pseudo-religious "God-chosen" dogma, or whether "Post-Zionists" collect the "benefits" of Ariel Sharon's atrocities against the indigenous Palestinians and environmental destruction of Palestine, the Holy Land.

Anyone who does not virulently refute the base of such "right" to keep stolen land and property, is facilitating and justifying future wars of aggression and conquest, followed by colonial settlements and genocide against peaceful indigenous population.

This is nothing less than celebrating barbarity, rewarding criminality and obliteration of the very essence of human morality which mankind had worked hard to foster its evolvement over millennia

When those who incessantly declaim the words "Holocaust never again" justify such lopsided views which lay the ground for future wars and genocide, the contradiction becomes staggering!

Are people so naïve that they don't realize that doing so, invariably corresponds in fact to... a full support -quasi unconditional, of the zionist thieves and their ideological core which deems colonising Palestine as a “Divine and historical right” for the Jewish people ?

What does the notion of Justice, social responsibility, fair dealing mean if we are to equate criminals with victims in terms of rights to ownership of stolen property?

Advocating "equal rights" between the criminal and victim, in which the criminal escapes punishment for his crimes, gets compensated by keeping stolen property, and gets rewarded by enjoying the fruits of his aggression in terms of total participation in decision and law making in the land he abused, is an assassination of the concept of justice, on which peaceful Civilization is built and needs to prosper

Accepting the mere declaration of abandoning Zionism and the announcement of equal rights for both without holding those responsible into account, is utterly treacherous to Palestine and the Palestinians.

Furthermore, I reiterate; any future decision on the status of ILLEGAL COLONIZERS in Palestine should be a PALESTINIAN DECISION; they, and ONLY they, can choose whether to allow their tormentors to stay or not
