GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas spokesman, Fawzi Barhoum, stressed that the right of return was not only a political and an individual right but that it was a fundamental right that no one has the right to negotiate or bargain over on behalf the people.
In a statement to PIC on Thursday, Barhoum said that International Law gives our people the right to return to the towns and villages from which they were forced out and gives them the right to be compensated for the years denial, stressing that this was a moral, legal and national right.
He pointed out that the Zionist entity 62 years after the Nakba is regressing rather progressing and that the liberation project was making progress in the face of occupation.
On the peace process, Barhoum said that 16 years of negotiations were an utter failure and showed that US democracy was fake, adding that this has caused this project to lose support and for the liberation project to gain support.
He expressed confidence that 62 years after the Nakba the wind of change is in favour of the Palestinian cause and that prospects liberation and return of refugees from their exile is drawing closer.
He pointed out that Fatah's Authority is playing the role of security agent for occupation through its security coordination and that this has resulted in reducing security challenges to the occupation.
About Palestinian refugees abroad, he said that refugees were living in refugee camps in extremely harsh conditions and that their issue should top the list of Palestinian priorities.
