PSL warns against Israeli marches in Jerusalem

GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestine Scholars League has warned of the dangers of upcoming extremist marches and rallies, organized with the full support of the Israeli occupation government, in occupied Jerusalem.

The league said in a press statement on Saturday that the “rallies are in perfect harmony with the Talmudic legends and misconceptions that visualize demolishing the Aqsa Mosque to build the alleged temple on its ruins.”

The League also highlighted the importance of discontinuing both direct and indirect negotiations with Israel, noting that Israel uses the negotiations as a means for its continued Judaization of Jerusalem and encroachment on the city’s citizens by demolishing their homes, stripping them of their identities, and deporting their political representatives.

"We see grave danger in the repeated calls by extremist Jewish groups to participate in marches and wild rallies on Tuesday in the Old City of Jerusalem on the occasion of the so-called ‘memory of the destruction of the (alleged) temple’ in feverish attempts to desecrate the Aqsa Mosque.”

In a similar tone, Jerusalem MP Ahmad Attoun told the PIC on Saturday that all of the recent calls by Palestinian and Arab leaderships for visits to the Aqsa Mosque are only aimed at polishing Israel’s image and covering up its dark practices in Jerusalem, clarifying that it would be better for them to produce a mechanism which forces Israel to recant its deportation decisions and allow the citizens of the West Bank and Gaza Strip to visit the holy mosque.

He said: “It would be better for the horns and noises that are consistent and intersect with Israel's goals and provide services to it, to provide a clear plan for defending and protecting Jerusalem and strengthening its steadfast people.”
