Qurai: No point in negotiations

[ 04/08/2010 - 10:49 AM ]

RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

PLO executive committee member Ahmed Qurai said that there is “no point” in going into direct or indirect negotiations with Israel without the U.S. (the patron of those negotiations)specifying some of the concepts that remain a mystery.

He defined the most important of those concepts as being the Palestinian state and East Jerusalem, the anticipated state capital as proclaimed by the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah.

“It is impossible to agree with the Israelis. Over 19 ears of talks with them – where I was the negotiator – they did not close one file,” Qurai said in a news briefing, suggesting there is a need to consider other options when deciding upon future steps with Israel.

Qurai also called on Palestinians to take action befitting an occupied people, adding: “The Palestinian people at home and abroad must move in order to regain their rights and preserve their national constants.”
