AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- All members of the same family were severely beaten and attacked by the Palestinian Authority's security militias who came to their home to arrest the father on a charge of delivering a Friday Khutba (sermon) in the village of Dura near Al-Khalil city, Al-Jazeera net said.

The assault on this family occurred last Friday after a PA military force came to the home of Ahmed Amr, 68, to kidnap him.

His son Ayman affirmed that the armed militia men were convinced to wait a little until his father puts some clothes on, but once his father showed up to turn himself in, they quickly embarked without reason on beating him and other members of the family using wooden and plastic batons.

He added that the militia men verbally abused his family and insulted God during their barbaric attack on everyone.

He pointed out that 12 members of the family including his mother, brothers, one of them is two years of age, sustained bruises in different parts of their bodies especially their backs and heads and all were taken to the municipal hospital in Al-Khalil city.

For its part, the Palestinian independent commission for human rights strongly denounced the use of force against Amr family and stressed it would not remain silent on what happened.

Senior official of the independent commission Islam Khatib, who visited the family, asserted that he documented the testimonies given by the victims about what happened, noting that the attack was carried out by security elements, most of them work for the Fatah-affiliated national security.

In a separate incident, the number of Palestinian citizens kidnapped at the hands of those militias against the backdrop of the resistance operations that happened in Ramallah and Al-Khalil rose to 750 prisoners after 35 others of Hamas cadres and supporters were detained on Monday in different West Bank cities.
