Netanyahu: Israel Resumed Talks with German Mediator on Shalit

16 months ago an asshole running a hasbara "Palestine" site asked:
"Is Hamas About to be Fooled, Again, by the Pharaoh?"

He answered himself: "I am Almost Certain, the Answer is Yes!"

Consequently, he commented: "[How can the Hamas fools fall for this? Egyptian "intelligence" is inseparable from the Mossad. Might as well give him directly to the Mossad and say that, "Hamas trusts the goodwill of the Mossad!" What fools!]" ,

Shalit was captured by Gaza freedom fighters in a cross-border raid in 2006 and has been held since. Hamas has demanded the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons in exchange for Shalit.

Netanyahu: Israel Resumed Talks with German Mediator on Shalit

17/10/2010 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that talks over a deal for the release of the detained Israeli soldier by the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, have resumed.

Talking to the enemy Army Radio, Netanyahu confirmed that the Zionist entity "renewed contact with the German mediator, stressing that the talks should be held behind closed doors.

Gilad Shalit was captured by Gaza resistance fighters in a cross-border raid in 2006 and has been held since. Hamas has demanded the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons in exchange for Shalit.

However, Gilad's father Noam Shalit denied Netanyahu's declaration that the German mediator had been contacted, asserting, as he spoke to the Army Radio, that the freeze in talks toward the release of his son was still in place.

Earlier on Saturday, Top Hamas official Musa Abu Marzuq confirmed that talks with the German mediator have resumed.
In an interview in London based Arabic-language daily Al-Hayat, Marzuq said that the German mediator visited Gaza in order to synchronize positions, but added that the Hamas continued to insist on its previous list of prisoners demanded in exchange for Shalit's release.

16/10/2010 Top Hamas official Musa Abu Marzuq confirmed Saturday that talks with the German mediator in prisoner swap negotiations between Hamas and “Israel” for the release of captured Israeli occupation forces soldier Gilad Shalit have resumed, Haaretz newspaper reported.

Marzuq confirmed reports that the German mediator, Gerhard Conrad, visited the coastal enclave two weeks ago in a bid to resume the frozen negotiations.

Shalit was captured by Gaza resistance fighters in a cross-border raid in 2006 and has been held since. Hamas has demanded the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons in exchange for Shalit.

The negotiations have been stuck in recent months following the failure of the previous German mediator, Gerhard Conrad, to reach a deal. The previous round of talks broke down due to Israel's rejection of Hamas' demands.

In an interview in London based Arabic-language daily Al-Hayat, Marzuq said that the German mediator visited Gaza in order to synchronize positions, but added that the Hamas continued to insist on its previous list of prisoners demanded in exchange for Shalit's release.

Hamas had stated it would not free Shalit unless Israel released all 450 prisoners on the list the organization passed on to Egypt four years ago. Israel agreed to release most of those on the list, apart from a few dozen it sees as “most dangerous”.
