[ 04/04/2011 - 07:56 PM ] GAZA, (PIC)-- Head of the parliamentary committee on Jerusalem Ahmed Abu Halbiya warned of new Israeli plans to Judaize the occupied holy city of Jerusalem and establish what is called greater Jerusalem on an area of 600 square kilometers.
Israel started to annex Palestinian lands in the West Bank to Jerusalem in order to establish its project called "greater Jerusalem," Abu Halbiya added.
He stressed that Israel is exploiting the world's preoccupation with the Arab revolutions in order to ethnically cleanse the Palestinian people and build more settlements units and outposts for settlers in the holy city.
The official pointed out that Israel has accelerated its settlement plans since the beginning of 2010, where it started to seize and demolish dozens of Palestinian real estate and built dozens of settlement units within a broader scheme to geographically and demographically Judaize Jerusalem.
