Qassam denies Israeli narrative following Khan Younis hit

GAZA, (PIC)-- Abu Obeida, the spokesman of the Qassam Brigades, Hamas's armed wing, has denied the pretenses Israeli occupation authorities gave following an airstrike that killed three Qassam leaders Saturday morning in southern Gaza Strip.

The statement came in response to Israeli military officials who claimed the strike targeted men planning to operate in the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt.

Abu Obeida emphasized that the Qassam Brigades has promised the Palestinians it will not tolerate the enemy's crimes and will not let the martyr's blood to be lost in vain.

”The enemy will pay the price for this crime and will not escape our punishment, Allah willing,” Abu Obeida said.

”We are the ones who will determine the nature, place and time of our response to this crime,” he declared.

He also denied the story Israel offered following the hit, saying: ”The Qassam Brigades operates within the historical borders of Palestine. The Zionist story is aimed at [prompting strife] with Egypt, especially in light of its recent positions supporting the Palestinians.”

Meanwhile, Gaza political analyst Mustafa al-Sawwaf has called on the resistance forces to formulate a new strategy to respond to Israeli crimes committed on the Gaza Strip.

”[The Israeli occupier] is trying to keep the Gaza Strip under fire and is working to target the resistance [forces] in order to create justification before the world popular opinion in order to launch a full-fledged, certified aggression,” Sawwaf said.

He called on the resistance factions to send Israel a message. But the message must be thoughtful in order to be effective and successful, and not just for the sake of responding, he said.
