Radwan: Obama’s speech is a setback for all those who counted on the US

[ 22/05/2011 - 10:11 PM ]
GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Ismail Radwan, a leader of Hamas in Gaza, criticised statements made by the US president Barak Obama in which he renewed Washington’s commitment to the security of the Zionist entity calling on those Arabs and Palestinians counting on the US to reconsider their position.
In a statement he made to PIC, Radwan said : “Obama’s speech was a setback to those who wager on American policy and political stands and we reject such statements that only reflect a full bias to occupation at the expense of the [inalienable] rights of the Palestinian people.
“We consider Obama’s administration to flagrantly and perversely stand to support Zionist security [while] it squanders Palestinian rights as it has become clear that the US is not talking about the 67 borders or about a Palestinian state, but is engaged in a game of deception.”
He called on Arab states to support the Palestinian people and to reconsider the Arab peace initiative as no peace can be achieved while the US is totally biased and no peace can be achieved while land is being thieved.

Islamic Jihad calls for enhancing unity in response to Obama’s speech

[ 21/05/2011 - 10:00 PM ]
GAZA, (PIC)-- Sheikh Nafeth Azzam , a leader of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Gaza, has called for completely abandoning counting on the USA for a solution to the Palestine problem after the USA administration has totally adopted the Zionist position.
Azzam called on the PA on Sunday to work on reinforcing the internal front and the national reconciliation to present a united front that can stand in the face of the Zio-American schemes.
He added that Obama’s latest speech was vague and contained “booby-trapped” details and added that experience has taught us not to count on US policy or depend on it, especially that Obama has so far failed to persuade Tel-Aviv on numerous issues.
He stressed that Palestinians should count on the masses and their revolutions in the Arab world, adding that these revolutions will change the political principles in the region.
