Candlelit rally in J'lem in solidarity with officials threatened with exile

[ 06/07/2011 - 09:47 AM ]
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Hundreds of Jerusalemite natives went on a candle march on Tuesday evening in solidarity with the three officials who are still facing a deportation order from their holy city issued by the Israeli occupation authority (IOA).
The protesters gathered in the soccer filed of the neighborhood before heading to the Red Cross headquarters in the holy city where they held a candlelit vigil outside the building.
As they were marching towards the Red Cross office holding candles in their hands, the protesters chanted slogans against the Israeli occupation, and its exile and Judaization policies.
The Red Cross building has become the home of two Jerusalemite lawmakers and one former minister since the IOA issued its arbitrary exile order against them last year.
In a related context, the change and reform parliamentary bloc affiliated with Hamas Movement hailed the three Jerusalemite officials for their steadfastness against the Israeli exile decision issued against them last year.
"The exile decision has broken down and failed to confront the steadfastness of Jerusalem's lawmakers and its minister who are holding a sit-in at the Red Cross," the Hamas bloc stated in a press release on Tuesday.
The bloc also appealed in its statement to the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and pressure Israel to cancel its illegal exile order that it had issued against the three officials from Jerusalem.
