World Powers step-down at nuclear talks with Iran

The latest round of talks between the P5+1 powers (aka E3+3) and Iran in Kazakhstan ended on Wednesday. The new proposal by the P5+1 called for easing of the “crippling sanctions” and allowing Iran to keep its 20-percent enriched uranium fuel in return for Tehran’s suspension of its enrichment activities at the Fordo military base.

ayatollahkhamenei[1]On February 28, 2013, Israeli daily Haaretz published the details of the P5+1 proposal it received from American negotiating team, according to which “instead of demanding the complete closure of Iran’s underground uranium enrichment center in Fordo, the so-called P5+1 (the United States, Russia, France, Germany, Britain and China) nations are now asking only the suspension of activities in the Fordo facility and not its complete closure. Furthermore, Iran would not be required to remove all its 20-percent enriched uranium out of the country. Instead, it would be allowed to retain sufficient amounts of enriched uranium for use in Tehran research reactor to produce medical isotopes“.

The US delegation at Kazakhstan talks, headed by under-secretary for political affairs, Zionist Jew Wendy Sherman, arrived in Israel today to brief Netanyahu government. The other two foreign Israel-Firsters who arrived in Tel Aviv to discuss P5+1 proposal, are, Zionist Jew David Cohen, US Treasury’s “executioner” for sanctions against Iran – and Sir Kim Darroch, Britain’s national security adviser, who like his boss David Cameron believes Iran already possesses nuclear bombs.
In 2020, Turkey and Brazil had brokered a far better deal for US-Israel but was rejected by Washington.

Naturally, warmongering Netanyahu was not happy with western powers step-down. He said if Kazakhstan talks fail, a military attack was the only option for the western powers to stop Iran acquiring a nuclear bomb. Netanyahu’s “Iranophobia” has resulted in many pro-Israel Jews to distance themselve from the Zionist regime. Jewish professors Flynt Leverett (Penn State University) and his wife Hillary Mann Leverett (American University) are authors of book, ‘Going to Tehran: Why the United StatesMust Come to Terms with the Islamic Republic of Iran’. On February 25, 2013, in an article published at pro-Israel Al-Jazeera English, they wrote: “Western policymakers and commentators wrongly assume that sanctions will force Iranian concessions in nuclear talks that resume this week in Kazakhstan – or perhaps even undermine the Islamic Republic’s basic stability in advance of the next presidential election in June“.

Former British foreign secretary, MP Jack Straw (with Jewish family roots), claimed at UK daily The Telegraph (February 25, 2013) that “even if Iran gets the Bomb, it won’t be worth going to war“.
All options remain on the table”, goes the mantra. This is code for saying that the West retains the choice of using military force to stop Iran acquiring a nuclear weapon. We’ll hear it repeated this week, as negotiations between Iran and the “P5 +1” (the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, and Germany) resume in Kazakhstan. On occasions, I’ve used the phrase myself. But the more I’ve thought about it, the more I’ve become convinced that it is a hindrance to negotiations, rather than a help,” wrote Jack Straw.

Saeed Jalili, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council briefed reporters at the end of 2-day Kazakhstan talks that P5+1 did not demand the closure of Fordo facility. He also added that P5+1 had tried to come closer to Iranian viewpoints on some issues which was a “positive” development.
The expert-level talks between P5+1 and Iran will be held in Istanbul on March 18 – followed by next meeting between the two sides in Almaty on April 5-6.
