Palestinian Prisoners And Their Sponsors

BEHINDBARS
Many questions are being raised by the release of Samer al Issawi , one of them why did Samer al Issawi get all this attention that was not granted to other prisoners ? It is not that we don’t want prisoner al Issawi to be released . We want Samer al Issawi to be released and all prisoners to be released as well. We are asking about the origin of the world interest in his release at the exclusion of others.

Think of prisoner Maysara abu Hamdiye who died in prison lately- from illness- without receiving treatment and being abused by the Israelis who used to throw him in the trunk of a car on an 18 hour drive – hand cuffed – before reaching the hospital. In the last days of his short life, and when his health seriously deteriorated, Maysara abu Hamdiye used to beg his inmates not to call the guards because –then- he will be taken on the 18 hour torture drive in the trunk of the car handcuffed, something that he feared more than death itself .

Where were the societies and organizations who were supposed to protect the prisoner’s rights and Abu Hamdiye’s rights ? Where were they when Arafat Jaradat was assassinated in prison by agents who were investigating him ? And where are they now after Nahed al Aqra’ -who was denied hospitalization – had his left leg amputated and the so called leg sent to his mother by Israeli Prison Services to dispose of ? Are these illicit practices being searched and investigated and are the prisoners given justice by those who pretend to promote the prisoner’s cause?

The answer is: no, they are not . The multiple foreign affiliated NGOs- functioning on behalf of the World Order and financed by it- are certainly not the mother of the child and certainly not the mother of the Palestinian prisoner. They are linked not only to foreign NGOs but also to Israeli NGOs and they are acting – regarding the Palestinian prisoners – the same way the promoters of a football club or a sports team would act . They sponsor this or that prisoner- according to many givens – and turn the whole plight of the prisoners -that is collective, national and human – into a one man show that the public around the world follows daily in its minute details and where the case of one person is promoted at the expense of others .

These world NGOs are practicing sponsorship which has become the common language of NGOs around the world . They sponsor causes and cases and activities , whether cultural or social or political . They sponsor Springs and Revolutions and Social Changes They sponsor everything in order to get hold of all the societies’ articulations and infiltrate each and every right cause and endeavor within view to control it . What they promote- in reality – under the label of peaceful activism- is the agenda of the World Order that is neither peaceful nor peace seeking . And what they seek- in the prisoners’ case – is to turn the Palestinian plight into a consumable show and the Arab and world masses into a passive audience of a suspense movie , be it a death race or a hunger game. .
The hero of the show is a prisoner who has been forsaken by his leadership and by the cause he fought for . A prisoner or two or three singled out and sponsored until the prisoner becomes part of the show and disconnects himself from those responsible for his incarceration to attach and connect to his sponsors and promoters despite the fact that a prisoner is really supported by the justice of his cause. The last chapter is usually not disclosed and we remain holding our breath not knowing what will happen next. It is not sure if the ending will be happy or drastic and all possibilities are there. But – whatever the outcome is- the platform will be ready for the next prisoner to ascend . All this while we remain passive , seated and hooked but really unconcerned . We have become part of the show as well in the general scene that the NGOs have prepared for us.

We fear these NGOS and their schemes to hijack the Palestinian Cause and their capacity to use and exploit righteous causes to serve their own ends . We fear , among other things , that they we will be manufacturing in some prison some political hero that will soon take the stage and speak in the name of the cause . The stage is now empty and most Palestinian heroes have fallen , someone is expected to step in to fill the place and the NGOs are not idle .
