Mr Brown added that the man had said he was not affiliated with any groups and he acted alone. However, police had previously said they believed that more than one gunman was involved. A Department of Defense official told The Daily Beast that Micah Johnson was a corporal in the Army Reserves. He was part of the 284th Engineering Company, which is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.The official said Johnson served in Afghanistan.
