Battle of Al-Qusayr Rages As Syrian Army Advances

The Syrian city of al-Qusayr witnessed on Saturday the fiercest fight since the Syrian army launched the operation against the foreign-backed militants almost nearly a week ago.

Syrian military sources told al-Manar that the Syrian army advanced on Saturday in the area of Hamidiyeh.
The source added that the Syrian armed forces destroyed a vehicle loaded with a 23 mm cannon in the airport of Dabaa in al-Qusayr countryside.

For his part, al-Manar correspondent reported that the armed groups inflicted heavy losses, noting that dozens of militants were killed or injured in the clashes.

He said that militants who are in the back-rows of the battle were asking to be provided with equipments as their supply routes were totally cut.

Our correspondent quoted military sources as assuring that al-Qusayr operation was totally successful as it fulfilled its goal which is to regain the city.

These sources stressed that the Syrian army tightened grip on the areas which was controlled by the foreign-backed militants.

On the other hand, the London-based opposition watchdog, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told Agence France Presse that intense clashes rocked the central city of Qusayr on Saturday.

The head of the observatory, Rami Abdul Rahman, "the fighting and shelling, which took place on Saturday on the main roads inside and outside of Qusayr, are the most intense” since the operation started.

"The town of Qusayr, and the rebel areas north of the town like Hamdiyeh, the former military airport at Dabaa and Arjuneh have been subjected to heavy bombardment by regime forces,” Abdul Rahmad said, referring to the Syrian Army.

Syria Opposition Divided, Istanbul Meeting “Scandalous”

Members of the divided Syrian opposition said that regional bids to influence the opposition have blocked discussions, on whether to hold peace talks with the government, at a key meeting of the so-called Syrian National Coalition.

The SNC is supposed to decide during its three-day meeting in Istanbul whether to accept a proposal from the United States and Russia to participate in a peace conference aimed at ending the current crisis in Syria.

However, opposition figures said the meeting has not been able to tackle that question because demands from foreign countries to expand the number of members in the Coalition has divided the group and blocked discussion over the rest of the agenda.

"You have Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates pushing to include up to 30 new members in the National Coalition. Their goal is to downsize the Muslim Brotherhood's influence over the group," a Coalition member told Agence France e Presse on condition of anonymity.

"On the other hand you have Turkey, Qatar and to an extent France backing the Coalition as it stands," he added.

Referring to Saudi Arabia and the United States, another Coalition member said: "We are being threatened that they will not give us any money or even weapons, and even that (Syrian President) Bashar al-Assad will stay in power if we don't allow this expansion.”

"This is scandalous. This competition for power is killing the Syrian opposition," he said on condition of anonymity.

أكد مصدر دبلوماسي غربي في أن السفير الأميركي روبرت فورد انسحب من اجتماعات الائتلاف السوري المعارض وغادر اسطنبول بعد خلافات وصراعات كبيرة بين الحضور.
هذا وقد أكد المصدر أنه و بعد كل ما رأيناه في اجتماعات الائتلاف.. لا أمل من معارضة كهذه لاهم لها سوى المناصب والتسميات وغالبية المشاركين يتلقون تعليماتهم عبر الهواتف الجوالة

وقد اعتبر المصدر أن مغادرة السفير الأميركي روبرت فورد اجتماع اسطنيول مؤشرعلى حسم القضية مع "الائتلاف " قبل أن يتوصل الى قرار نهائي.

هذا وقد أكد معارض سوري يشارك في اجتماع اسطنبول : أن روبرت فورد السفير الأميركي هو من سيقوم بتشكيل وفد «الائتلاف» الى جنيف !!

كما عبًرعن تشاؤمه من التوصل إلى حل وسط يتفادى فيه "الائتلافيون" سقوط الهيكل فوق رؤوسهم.

A racist killer was feared to be on the loose in Birmingham last night after a 75-year-old Muslim grandfather was murdered on his way home from evening prayer.
Mohammed Saleem, who walked with a stick, was knifed four times in the back so viciously on Monday night that the wounds penetrated his chest.

The father-of seven, who had no “defensive wounds”, was not robbed and his family have said there was no reason they knew why anyone would want to hurt him.

Yesterday, West Midlands Police launched a public appeal to trace a suspect caught on CCTV near the scene of the attack, which detectives believe could be racially motivated.

Det Supt Mark Payne, the officer in charge of the inquiry, admitted the possibility it was a racist attack was a “significant line of inquiry".

A retired baker with five daughters, two sons and 22 grandchildren, Mr Saleem had lived in Little Green Lane, Small Heath, Birmingham, with his wife, Said Begum, 69, for 40 years.
Mr Payne said the issue of motive was "wide open" but Mr Saleem followed the same route to the mosque, five times a day, and never carried any money.

He added: "To the attacker I say we will find you and we will bring you to justice.

“Anybody capable of stabbing a 75-year-old man in the back three times needs to be in jail and that's where we will put them."

In an emotional family appeal, two of Mr Saleem's daughters Shazia Khan, 45, who lives in London and Nazia Maqsood, 44, urged the attacker to hand themselves in.

Mrs Khan said she believed it was "a pre-meditated brutal attack, pre-planned, intended to kill".

Officers said they want to trace a white man, aged 25 to 32, of medium height and build, caught on camera running near the scene around 10.30pm, the time of the attack.

Mr Payne said the man was seen wearing "a distinctive beanie hat with a ribbed or striped pattern", a light-coloured top and dark bottoms.

Police also want to trace a seven-seat people carrier captured on CCTV, driving near the mosque with the two male occupants, both white men in their 30s, who are considered "significant witnesses".

No arrests have yet been made.

عاد الجدل حول “جهاد النكاح” في سوريا، مع “اعترافات” فتاة تونسية بثتها قناة تونسية، ، حيث أجرت قناة “تونسنا” الخاصة حوارا مع فتاة في العشرينيات من العمر تدعى عائشة، زعمت خلاله أنّ هناك سيدة تبلغ من العمر 38 عاما تقوم بتجنيد طالبات تونسيات من داخل أوساط الجامعة.
وأضافت الفتاة أنّ السيدة نجحت في “جمع” عدة فتيات “منقبات” من ضمنهن فتاة لا تتجاوز 10 سنوات من العمر.
وقالت إنّ السيدة كانت تحاول إقناع الطالبات بالانقطاع عن الدراسة، وأن “الاستشهاد في سوريا من أجل إعلاء راية الإسلام” أفضل من حياتهن الحالية، وأضافت أنّها تعلم بأنّ اثنتين من الفتيات على الأقل سافرتا إلى سوريا للانضمام إلى “المجاهدين.”.
وقالت إنّ السيدة كلفت إحدى الفتيات بإقناعها بأن تسافر إلى الجبهة السورية “للزواج” بأحد المقاتلين، مضيفة أن زوج السيدة هو من يقوم بمساعدتها على “تسفير” الفتيات” خارج تونس، وأوضحت أنّ الرجل متشدد دينيا. ومضت الفتاة تقول إنّ “حمل النقاب لمدة ستة أيام” هو الذي نبّه والدتها إلى “نيتها السفر” لاسيما بعد أن بدأت في إعداد العدة للسفر. وقالت إنّ أمها انهارت وجمعت أقاربها لإقناع ابنتها بأنّ الإسلام دين تسامح ولطف.
وأضافت أنّ “الشبكة تجنّد عبر فايسبوك” وقالت إنها تلقت “رسالة عبر الفايسبوك توضح لها “المطلوب منها”.

قراصنة ينشرون وثائق للاستخبارات التركية تتهم «النصرة» بتفجيري الريحانية!!

نشرت مجموعة من القراصنة ممن اخترقوا أجهزة الكومبيوتر العائدة لدائرة الاستخبارات التركية، بقيادة الشرطة، وثائق قالت إنها وصلت إليها، وتتعلق بحادثة الريحانية التي وقعت في 11 أيار الحالي وذهب ضحيتها 54 مواطنا تركيا.

وذكرت المجموعة إن الوثائق تؤكد أن الاستخبارات التركية كانت على علم بأن «جبهة النصرة» في سوريا، التابعة لتنظيم «القاعدة»، كانت تحضر ثلاث سيارات للتفجير في تركيا، وان الاستخبارات قد علمت بذلك في 25 نيسان الماضي، أي قبل حدوث التفجيرين بحوالي أسبوعين. ويحذر التقرير من أن «النصرة» جهزت ثلاث سيارات في منطقة الرقة، واحدة منها من طراز مازدا وأخرى من طراز كيا والثالثة غير محددة الماركة، وتهدف إلى تفجيرها في تركيا.
ومع ذلك فلم تبذل أي جهود للبحث عن السيارات في تركيا بين 25 نيسان و11 أيار، ما يعني، وفقا لصحيفة «ميللييت»، أن هناك تواطؤا ما في هذه القضية. وتستهجن الصحيفة بعد إحالة ملف الريحانية إلى مدعي عام الجمهورية مع هذه الوثائق أن يقوم وزير الخارجية أحمد داود اوغلو بدور المحامي عن «جبهة النصرة» عندما نفى ضلوع الجبهة بالحادثة.
وقد جاء اعتراف نائب رئيس الحكومة بشير اتالاي بإمكانية دور لـ«جبهة النصرة» في الحادثة صادما للبعض، عندما قال إن السلطات التركية كانت تتعقب بالأساس هذه المجموعات.
وعن السبب في عدم السعي لمنع حدوث التفجيرين رغم المعلومات الاستخباراتية، قال أتالاي إن السلطات التركية كلفت لجنة التفتيش في رئاسة الحكومة للبحث في ما إذا كان هناك إهمال، وليس من الصواب إعطاء الحكم قبل انتهاء التفتيش.
وسارع داود اوغلو إلى تكذيب الوثائق بالقول إن الفاعل غير مجهول وهم مجموعات «إرهابية» على علاقة بالنظام السوري ويجب عدم التستر على الفاعل، معتبرا أن الهدف من نشر هذه الوثائق هو حرف الأنظار عن القتلة الحقيقيين.

وقال رجب طيب أردوغان إن المعتقلين لضلوعهم بتفجيرات الريحانية بجنوب البلاد ساعدوا وفداً من حزب الشعب الجمهوري المعارض للقاء الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد.

ونقلت وسائل إعلام تركية عن أردوغان، قوله خلال لقائه أعضاء من حزب "العدالة والتنمية" إن "أعضاء حزب الشعب الجمهوري ذهبوا إلى دمشق أكثر مما ذهبوا إلى ديار بكر، والتقطوا صورة عائلية مع الأسد".
ولفت إلى أنه يمتلك وثائق تثبت أن المتورطين في التفجيرات اصطحبوا مسؤولي حزب الشعب الجمهوري إلى سورية للقاء الأسد.

يذكر أن مسؤولي حزب الشعب الجمهوري، بزعامة نائب رئيس حزب الشعب الجمهوري، فاروق لوغأوغلو، زاروا سوريا في صيف العام 2011 والتقوا الرئيس الأسد.

كما ذهبت بعثة أخرى إلى دمشق العام الماضي والتقت الأسد، حيث ساهمت بالإفراج عن الصحافي التركي، جنيد أونال، الذي احتجزته مجموعات موالية للنظام لمدة 40 يوماً.

وظهرت صور للقاءات المسؤولين المعارضين الأتراك مع الأسد، ما دفع الحكومة التركية إلى اتهام المعارضة بالانحياز مع النظام السوري،

ووقع تفجيران بسيارتين مفخختين في 11 أيار/مايو الجاري أمام مبنى بلدية الريحانية أدّيا إلى مقتل 51 شخصاً وأكثر من 100 جريح. واتهم مسؤولون منظمة "اجيلجيلر" أو "المستعجلون" التركية التي لديها ارتباطات بأجهزة الاستخبارات السورية بالوقوف وراء الإنفجارين، إلاّ أن مسؤولاً في المنظمة نفى ذلك.

وأوقفت السلطات التركية حتى الآن 12 شخصاً يشتبه بأنهم ضالعون في التفجيرات.

وكانت تركيا هددت بالانتقام على هذه التفجيرات بعد انتهاء التحقيقات فيها.

A million Israeli landmines planted in occupied Palestinian West Bank

The 1997 Ottawa Treaty bans the use of mines, but countries like the US and Israel have opted to not sign the treaty

About a million landmines have been planted by the Israeli occupation in occupied Palestinian West Bank, official Palestinian data has shown.

The Commissioner General of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation in Washington, Maan Erekat, said: "The number of Israeli landmines planted is between 800,000 to a million."

During his meeting with UN and NGO officials in New York on Wednesday, Erekat said: "This significant number of landmines poses great direct danger to the safety and security of Palestinian citizens." He discussed efforts with the officials he met to remove these landmines.

Erekat reiterated the importance of "continuing the efforts being exerted by the UN and NGO in cooperation with Palestinian parties to remove the landmines planted around the occupied West Bank."

The Israeli occupation has planted landmines in the Palestinian territories since it occupied the West Bank and the Gaza Strip in 1967 under "security" pretexts.

There are about 51 landmine fields scattered around the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, especially in the Jordan valley, the north and west of the West Bank, near the 'Green Line,' around Israeli settlements and around large empty spaces where Israeli soldiers practice their military drills.

On Hezbollah’s Syrian Intervention

The matter is very simple: If the forces backing the Syrian opposition could have provided them with more support, they would have already done so. In fact, there is little left they have not given them in terms of weapons, money, and fighters. The only reasonable answer to those who ask why they have not intervened directly in the conflict is that there is a limit to military force.

In Lebanon, the Syrian opposition’s supporters took the initiative early on to provide individuals and groups with all kinds of political, media and material assistance. The northern border with Syria became a lifeline for the opposition, turning Tripoli into a support base for the uprising, where money was collected, fighters recruited and trained, and weapons gathered and smuggled across the border.
Several weeks into the crisis, support for the opposition became public as “relief centers” were established in places like Turkey and Europe, among many others around the world, under the guise of “assisting the Syrian people,” when in fact they were little more than military training camps for the opposition.

Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the Emirates, and Jordan also joined the campaign, just as Salafi and jihadi groups from around the region sent dozens of fighters who rubbed shoulders with French, British, and American special forces. They all operated on the basis that the regime in Damascus would be toppled quickly.

Aside from those who denied such support, there are those who decided on their own that the vast majority of Syrians were opposed to the regime, ignoring a very different reality on the ground. And when detractors pointed out the growing influence of extreme takfiri elements in the crisis, the response was that these were lies fabricated by the regime to distort the image of the revolution.
In Lebanon, March 14 forces – along with others at the service of Gulf and Western countries – did all they could to make Lebanon part of the official Arab stance that sought to destroy Syria under the pretense of a popular uprising. They would go into a fit of hysteria any time Lebanon’s foreign minister expressed a different point of view.

In this context, how is Hezbollah’s involvement in the battle of Qusayr being treated?

Those who oppose Hezbollah’s political and military support for the Syrian regime are the very same people who reject any role for the Resistance in Lebanon. They dream of turning the party into a charitable organization, never once having stood by its side when it battled Israel for years to liberate the South.

In fact, their history is full of betrayal of country and cooperation with the enemy – from the failed May 1983 peace accords between Lebanon and Israel, to openly justifying Israel’s assault on Lebanon in 2006. They would gladly fight Hezbollah themselves if they could. Instead, all they have left to hope for is to see the takfiris bring their crusade to Lebanon, so that they can blame it on Hezbollah.

Quite frankly, no one – from Hezbollah leadership all the way down to its popular base – wanted to see the party’s fighters engaged in the Syrian conflict. But the fact of the matter is that the Resistance is doing something that many will soon begin to appreciate.

And to spare us a long debate on this matter: What Hezbollah is doing in Syria is part of a wider struggle by the forces of resistance against a murderous front of reactionary forces...at the heart of which stands Israel.

A Coup by Tabbaneh Field Commanders: “We Have the Final Say”

The field commanders of Bab al-Tabbaneh’s gunmen have carried out a ‘coup’ against political leaders in the northern city of Tripoli, particularly MP Mohammed Kabbara. For all intents and purposes, the gunmen, who were being exploited politically and even financially, are now the ones controlling the streets.

Political leaders in Tripoli have long taken advantage of the internecine street conflicts in the city, using the violence and political allegiances of the militants to advance their standings, both locally and regionally. So the field commander rebellion against politicians comes as a striking development in this latest spate of violence.

The ‘coup’ against MP Kabbara and his political camp began on the night of Wednesday, May 22. As clashes spread, there was a lack of political stances to set the tone for the violence.

That night, MP Kabbara and retired Lebanese army colonel Amid Hammoud went to the Harba Mosque. Kabbara had called for the meeting only a few hours earlier. He intended to do the same thing he had always done in previous rounds of violence in the city, namely, convene field commanders and receive their mandate to represent them in political negotiations.

This time, however, Kabbara and Hammoud were surprised to find that the field commanders of Tabbaneh had declared a ‘rebellion’ against them, as though proclaiming that they alone had the final say, both politically and on the field.

The clerics of Bab al-Tabbaneh did not miss the meeting. In addition to more than 130 militants representing the gunmen of the neighborhoods, the attendees included Sheikh Khaled al-Sayyed, Sheikh Omar Aziz, and Sheikh Mazen al-Mohammed.

The field commanders boycotted the meeting, partly based on Kabbara’s earlier statement calling for the Lebanese army to “strike with an iron fist.” To the gunmen, this meant that Kabbara was on the army’s side, not Bab al-Tabbaneh’s.

The absence of the field commanders thwarted the main purpose of the meeting, which was to produce a unified set of demands. Their nonattendance meant that those at the meeting had no bearing on what was happening in the field.

As a result, the discussions shifted and focused on complaints about the discord in Tripoli’s political scene and among the armed groups. Accusations were made against Kabbara, and to a lesser extent Hammoud, over responsibility for the divisions and the chaos.

During the meeting, Sheikh Bilal Baroud elaborated on the causes of the existing anarchy and called on everyone to refrain from dealing harshly with the Lebanese army. His calls found support from Sheikh Mazen al-Mohammed, who said, “There is now blood in every street in Tripoli.”

Mohammed then lashed out at the MPs of Tripoli and said, “Rather than unify our vision and efforts, you are playing a role in drawing us apart.” He then asked, “Where are the weapons? In Jabal Mohsen, they have weapons like nothing we have in Bab al-Tabbaneh.”

At this point, Hammoud sensed that the insinuation was aimed at him and responded, “I have distributed the arms, but I cannot cover all of Tabbaneh’s weapon needs.”

Al-Quseir Battle Exposes Armed Syrian Opposition’s Dispersal

Disputes among the armed groups under the names of "al-Nusra Front", the so-called "Free Syrian Army" and other groups, brigades, and battalions emerged during the past few days. The so-called Syrian opposition abroad, especially the Syrian National Council (SNC) and the so-called Syrian Coalition, were feeble in giving instructions to the armed groups in battlefield to head to al-Quseir and support the encircled armed militiamen there.

In this regard, an opposing Syrian source pointed out that the so-called FSA's commandment in Turkey told al-Farouq Battalion in the Northern countryside of Homs to supply al-Quseir front with fighters and weaponry as soon as possible.

However, the Battalion led by a "Hamza al-Shemali" defied orders under the pretext that "there is no secure route to al-Quseir, the Syrian Army having set ambushes on the roads and fields leading to the city."
This critical situation drove the "opposition leaderships" abroad to address the armed men to head to al-Quseir, chiefly Raaed Abu Salah, who told "al-Qalamoun Rebels" and the FSA in the Northern countryside of Homs to head to al-Quseir.

Likewise, deputy chief of the so-called Syrian Coalition Opposition George Sabra addressed the armed insurgents to head to al-Quseir, stating, "All Battalions under the banner of the FSA must send fighters and weapons to al-Quseir immediately."

In parallel, the Syrian opposition groups so far have not agreed on a unified delegation to represent them in the Geneva Conference which will take place from 12 to 15 June. The opposition groups never agreed on a unified delegation and were never even in contact on this note at all.
The reason: the Syrian Coalition and the SNC, mainly the Muslim Brotherhood, rejected the presence of representatives from the "internal opposition" represented by the "National Coordination Committee (NCC)".

Moreover, the Muslim Brotherhood, encouraged by Turkey and Qatar, refuses to go to Geneva, demanding to represent 65% of the delegation. Saudi Arabia, however, pressured the US to weaken the Brotherhood's power by banning it from representing the opposition's delegation.

As the Conference due date becomes nearer, disagreements upsurge, with the absence of US pressure on the opposition. Also, US-Russian stances don't seem to be in harmony, although they tentatively agree on the Geneva conference.
Furthermore, the Syrian opposition source stated, "The conference could be held with the present attendants, and if the Muslim Brotherhood didn't attend, it won't affect the rest from going to Geneva."

"The Brotherhood refuses to attend by a unified delegation with the NCC while the US seeks to find a formulation to keep the NCC away and reduce the Brotherhood's presence, which in turn constantly sends reassuring letters to the US on many files, mainly "Israel" and Syrian relations with the US, in case the Brotherhood reached office," the source added.

معركة القصير أظهرت تشتت "المعارضة المسلحة"...نضال حمادة

طفت خلال الأيام الأخيرة على السطح خلافات الجماعات المسلحة التي تعمل تحت مسميات “جبهة النصرة” و”الجيش السوري الحر” وغيرها من الجماعات والكتائب والألوية.

وظهرت “المعارضة السورية” في الخارج وخصوصاً ما يسمى “المجلس الوطني السوري” وما يسمى “الإئتلاف السوري” المعارضين عاجزين عن إعطاء الأوامر الى المجموعات المسلحة على الأرض والتي طُلب منها التوجه الى مدينة القصير لدعم المسلحين المحاصرين داخل الحي الشمالي فيها.

وفي هذا الصدد، تشير مرجعية سورية “معارضة” إلى ان قيادة ما يسمى “الجيش الحر” المتواجدة في تركيا طلبت من “كتيبة الفاروق” التي تتواجد في الريف الشمالي لمدينة حمص والتي بحوزتها مخازن للسلاح وللذخيرة مدّ جبهة القصير بالمسلحين والسلاح على وجه السرعة، لكن الكتيبة التي يقودها شخص اسمه “حمزة الشمالي” رفضت تنفيذ الأوامر بحجّة عدم وجود طريق آمنة الى القصير حيث نصب الجيش السوري كمائن على الطرقات وفي البساتين المؤدية الى المدينة.

وقد دفع هذا الوضع المتأزم قيادات “المعارضة” في الخارج الى توجيه نداءات الى المسلحين للتوجه نحو القصير كما فعل العديد منهم وأبرزهم “رائد ابو صلاح” الذي طلب ممن أسماهم “ثوار القلمون” و”الجيش السوري الحر” في الريف الشمالي لحمص بالتوجه الى القصير. كما وجّه رئيس ما يسمى “الائتلاف السوري المعارض” بالانابة جورج صبرا نداءً دعا فيه المسلحين الى التوجه الى القصير، وقال صبرا “أن على كافة “الكتائب” المنضوية تحت لواء “الجيش السوري الحر” إرسال المقاتلين والسلاح الى القصير حالاً”، داعياً المجتمع الدولي الى سرعة التحرك لمواجهة ما اعتبره غزو سوريا.

وفي نفس السياق، وحتى اللحظة لم تتفق أطياف “المعارضة السورية” على تشكيلة وفد موحّد يذهب الى جنيف لتمثيلها في المؤتمر الدولي المزمع عقده بين 12 و15 حزيران/يونيو المقبل. ويبدو أن أطياف “المعارضة” لم تجتمع ابداً للتوافق على وفد موحد ولم يتم التواصل بين أطرافها حول هذا الموضوع على الإطلاق، حيث يرفض “الائتلاف المعارض” ومعه “المجلس الوطني” وجود ممثلين عن “معارضة الداخل” ممثلة بـ “هيئة التنسيق المعارضة”، ويأتي الاعتراض الأساس من جماعة “الإخوان المسلمين” التي تتحكم بقراري “المجلس” و”الائتلاف”.

وترفض جماعة “الإخوان المسلمين” الذهاب الى جنيف بتشجيع تركي قطري وهي تطالب ان يكون تمثيلها هو الوازن، وحدّدت سقف 65 بالمائة من الوفد كما هو الحال في “المجلس” و”الائتلاف” بينما تضغط السعودية على الولايات المتحدة من أجل سحب البساط من تحت قدمي جماعة “الإخوان” وعدم تمثيلهم في الوفد “المعارض”. وكلما اقترب موعد انعقاد المؤتمر زادت الخلافات وسط غياب ضغوط امريكية جدية على المعارضين، كما أن المواقف الأمريكية والروسية لا تبدو في حالة توافق تام مع وجود اتفاق مبدئي على عقد مؤتمر في جنيف.

وفي هذا السياق، تقول مرجعية سورية معارضة “ان المؤتمر قد يُعقد بمن حضر، وإذا غابت جماعة “الإخوان المسلمين” فلن يمنع غيابها القوى “المعارضة” الباقية من الذهاب الى جنيف وحضور المؤتمر. وترفض جماعة “الاخوان” الحضور في وفد موحد مع “هيئة التنسيق” بينما تسعى الولايات المتحدة الى ايجاد صيغة تبعد “الهيئة” وتخفف من وجود جماعة “الإخوان” التي ترسل تباعاً رسائل تطمين الى الولايات المتحدة حول ملفات كثيرة منها “اسرائيل” وعلاقات سوريا مع امريكا في حال وصلت الجماعة الى الحكم.

Resistance is the sacrifice and is the purification no doubt, and Resistance is much more than what the mere word conveys . What we have experienced in Lebanon in Year 2000 and then in year 2006 was much more than a victory over an enemy .Victory there was no doubt, and an outstanding one . The enemy himself has not ye…t awoken from such bad dream and has become lost as what to do and from where to start again.

What we have witnessed in fact in year 2000, and after that in year 2006, were the signs of a real revolution that had taken place at the deepest level of the human being . These two victories were but the fruits of such revolution. There were potentials and capacities and spiritual dimensions that needed to materialize. There was commitment and determination and faith and forbearance and courage and a will to sacrifice that needed to be brought and experienced and tested and there was much more than that also .

These were attempts at reaching higher levels of consciousness and existence no doubt , a need to prove that truthfulness or morality or sacrifice was not just an ideal or an idea, these were truths that lived in the deeper layers of the human being and needed the proper opportunity to materialize and live and blossom in the freedom fighters beautiful heroic acts and deeds. The human being – that the freedom fighter is- was struggling for this experience , people were also longing for this experience that is a potential human experience and a spiritual one above all, thus people were challenged by the most beastly occupation and invasion , by the most shocking abuse and mistreatment , by the most acute violation and injustice .

What to do when challenged by such an enemy? It is natural law that had arranged for all this , it is natural law which engendered the quest of the people to explore their inner being and unravel- within – the mysteries and the purpose of creation which is to know one’s real identity . It Is not just the enemy that the freedom fighters had to overcome , it is every form of weakness and surrender and want of faith and absence of courage and lack of intuition and indecision that had to be confronted and overcome . It was a whole operation of discovering and producing a new individual who is up to the challenge, an individual who -before defeating the other- be it Israeli or other than Israeli- had already defeated or was in the process of defeating every aspect of weakness within himself.

We are talking here about a rebirth in the spiritual and religious sense, and not just a revolution or a liberation or a war victory . We are talking about real solidarity and real oneness and real identification with the plight of man .What we are witnessing in the Resistance is the personification of all basic religious and ethical values that have been deteriorating lately at the hands of the corrupt world administration . This Resistance is here for all to redress this state of things, and not just to win over Israel, and all are required to support the mighty Resistance and answer the call of nature in supporting the oppressed and standing with right cause as a way to win the battle of life itself .

Anti-Air Missiles to Change Region’s Face, Resistance Crosses Geographical Boundaries

The game rules have changed.

Few words ...but they truly reflect, the new scene of the region.

On Sunday dawn, "Israel" attacked Damascus country side under the alleged pretext of banning the delivery of sophisticated weapons to Hizbullah.

Hours passed, the Syrian leadership sent clear messages to all who might be concerned:
"We are ready for the response and will hand the Lebanese resistance more advanced missiles."

Meanwhile, Damascus' visitors revealed that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is comfortable and to transform Syria into a Resistance State.

On Friday, Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah returned the Syrian salutation with a better greeting: "Ready to receive your weapons and to back the Syrian popular resistance to liberate the Occupied Golan."

In an attempt to shed light on the aspects of the Resistance axis' response to the "Israeli" aggression on Syria, moqawama.org interviewed the retired General in the Lebanese Army, Elias Farhat.

Resistance Historical Response

"By its recent attack on Syria, "Israel" crumbed the "separation-of-forces" agreement as well as the rules of conflict established since 1974," he clarified, and noted that the "aggression forms a blatant violation to the UN agreements."
Thus, according to Farhat the Syrian response came to say: "If "Israel" seeks to change the rules, so let it be."
He further elaborated: "Syria is disband from the old new rules [particularly the truce agreement] and it will continue to arm the Lebanese resistance in parallel to working on liberating the Occupied Golan."

Moreover, the military expert predicted that any new "Israeli" aggression on Syria will receive a direct, firm, and crushing response from the resistance axis.

He also commented on what Sayyed Nasrallah had declared: "We, the Lebanese resistance, are ready to receive any sort of qualitative arms, even if it is going to break the regional balance. We are ready to receive any sort of qualitative arms, even if it is going to break the regional balance." On the type of "balance changing" arms, Farhat explained what is already meant by regional balance.

"Earlier and on more than one occasion Sayyed Nasrallah declared that the resistance owns more than 50,000 weapons that are able to hit any target in Occupied Palestine," the General mentioned.
He recalled that the resistance Leader that the maritime economic zone in the Zionist entity as well as Eilat are under the resistance fire line. "Thus, land and maritime missiles are part of the regional balance and resistance deterrence capabilities."

Thus, "the anti-space missiles are the weapons that might break the existing balance, particularly that "Israeli" jets continue to breach the Lebanese air-space sovereignty on daily basis."
Such a development, according to the retired general, will change the region's face. ""Israel" will have no more space superiority. The balance on land will be accompanied with another in the space," he added.

Meanwhile, he stressed that "In any new confrontation, the resistance weapons are to reach all of the Occupied Palestinian territories and the "Israeli" jets won't find it easy to breach the Lebanese air sovereignty."

Based on ground facts, Farhat confirmed that "we are in a new critical stage in the Arab- "Israeli" conflict. It is a historical moment. "
On the resistance's readiness to support the Syrian Popular Resistance to liberate the Occupied Golan, the military expert affirmed that "this is part of the reciprocate to Syria's assistance to the resistance."
In the same context, Farhat revealed some aspects of Al-Assad's announcement that Syrian would be transformed into a State of Resistance.

"This means that Syria seeks to face the global war on it as well as the "Israeli" threats by changing the infrastructure of its traditional military to a resistance group ones."
Opening Golan Front..."Israel" Facing Existential Threat

For his part, the Coordinator of the Safety Net for Research and Strategic Studies Anis Nakash indicated that the Syrian readiness for liberating the Occupied Golan reflects that the Zionist enemy failed in breaking the Syrian will.

In remarks to al-Ahed news, Nakash hailed "the new strategic development that crosses the geographic boundaries and that the Syrian leadership is no more committed to the truce agreement."
"Sayyed Nasrallah's announcement of readiness to support the Syrian popular resistance is very dangerous and serious, particularly on the level of training the Syrian people to defend their land," he stressed.

The military analyst further stated "the expansion of the geographical boundaries of the resistance from Lebanon to the Golan means that the resistance redirected the compass of war front war to include not only the Lebanese lands but also the Syrian territories."

"Both the Syrian regime strategic response and the resistance capabilities awoke "Israel" from its daydreams and made it realize that its existence faces a serious threat, given the strength of the resistance," he added.

Moreover, Nakash agreed with Farhat that the Russian stance to provide Syria with strategic Alexander and other advanced missiles means that the US is unable to respond the new regional developments. "This sends another message to "Israel" over readiness to break its qualitative edge."

Church of Scotland Approves Revised Report on Occupation of Palestine

At its annual General Assembly, which concluded today, the Church of Scotland “overwhelmingly accepted” a revised version of its report, “The Inheritance of Abraham?” that so aroused Jewish ire earlier this month.

As I noted previously, the revised version was considerably watered down from the original, yet still retained the report’s key conclusions: that the Bible does not confer upon any people a guaranteed, divine right to any land, and that the current situation between Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories is characterized by an inequality in power.

Despite the church going to all the trouble to rewrite its report, including the outright deletion of some sections, Jews quite predictably are unsatisfied with the results.

“Whatever the revisions, ‘The Inheritance of Abraham’ still contains not an ounce of sympathy for Israel,” complains Liam Hoare, in an article published by the Jewish Daily Forward. The piece, headlined “Church of Scotland Strikes Out on Israel,” was posted today on The Forward’s website, though apparently before the author had gotten the news of the revised version’s passage—he doesn’t mention the General Assembly’s final vote. But he does call the report “borderline anti-Semitic,” and says that even the revised version failed to “repeal all claims that smacked of Christian supremacism?”

Christian supremacism? Apparently Hoare is upset that the revised report dared, even still, to offer quotes from the New Testament. The Church of Scotland, he avers, “does not appear to see the contradiction in turning to the New Testament and asserting its truthfulness in order to advance its case.”

Hoare’s comments are a perfect example of why I am opposed to Christians wasting their time engaging in any further “interfaith dialog” with Jews—because invariably you will run up against people like this. It is almost inevitable. Keep in mind that the Jewish Daily Forward is considered one of the more “liberal” Jewish publications around.

The “Inheritance of Abraham?” was authored and presented to the General Assembly by the church’s Church and Society Council. Here is a report, appearing at the Church of Scotland website, on its presentation and final approval:

Presenting the report Rev Sally Foster-Fulton, Convener of the Church and Society Council said: “This is primarily a report highlighting the continued occupation by the state of Israel and the injustices faced by the Palestinian people as a consequence. It is not a report criticising the Jewish people. Opposing the unjust policies of the state of Israel cannot be equated to anti-Semitism. “

“The Church has kept on thinking about ways we can contribute to a just and peaceful solution. The report we bring to this year’s Assembly has already caused no small amount of controversy. The Church and Society Council has learned a great deal from dialogue with Jewish community which followed the initial release of the report.

“We would like to thank members of the Jewish community who sat down with us and were gracious in their concern. We present a revised version today with a preface that sets the report more in context. While acknowledging that some of the original language, on reflection, was misguided, I want to affirm that the report remains robust. It offers new insights - ones that have come through the experience of those suffering the continuing injustices of occupation. I look forward to the debate and, I hope, to continuing discussion after today exploring the issues and ideas brought forward in the report.”

The revised report was overwhelmingly accepted by the General Assembly. Mrs Foster-Fulton said: “The on-going conflict in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory has been an issue close to the heart of the Church of Scotland

In addition to the above, we get the following from The Scotsman:

THE General Assembly has ignored calls by Scottish Jews to rethink a controversial report on the Israel-Palestine situation.

The Church and Society Council’s Inheritance of Abraham? A report on the Promised Land document prompted a storm of controversy around the world when it was first published.

Although primarily about the treatment of Palestinian people by the Israeli government, it was interpreted by Jewish groups as questioning the assumption that the Bible supported the existence of Israel as the Promised Land for Jews.

The report was criticised by the Israeli government as playing into “extremist political positions” and that it had damaged inter-faith relations.

In the wake of the row, the Kirk entered talks with Jewish groups and revised the report, changing some of the language and adding a preface giving context to the document.

Despite these amendments, the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities (SCoJeC) said that the report’s “unacceptable underlying message remains unaltered,” and hoped that “rather than adopting the report, the General Assembly will refer it back in order to permit a serious and sustained dialogue that will bring our communities together rather than driving us apart”.

During the debate on the report yesterday, the Rev David Randall echoed the SCoJeC’s call and brought a motion for the council to continue its work on the paper to find out “what is troubling the Jewish community” and report back in 2014.

Although she agreed that talks with Jewish communities should continue, the council convener, the Rev Sally Foster-Fulton, rejected the motion, stating that council had been in “good dialogue” with them and had addressed their concerns. But she said that it was “a report for the General Assembly to discuss and debate” and that the central message “was robust”.

A standing vote was taken and Mr Randall’s motion was overwhelmingly rejected, and the report was accepted by the Assembly.

Speaking outside the hall, Mrs Foster-Fulton said: “This is primarily a report highlighting the continued occupation by the state of Israel and the injustices faced by the Palestinian people as a consequence. It is not a report criticising the Jewish people. Opposing the unjust policies of the state of Israel cannot be equated to antisemitism.”

You’ll note the complaints, mentioned in the above report, voiced by the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities. Like Hoare, the SCoJeC apparently didn’t feel that the “Christian supremacist” Church of Scotland had bent over backwards far enough to appease its Jewish critics. But it wasn’t only them. When the church released the original version of its report in early May, it had to face pressure mounted from at least three other Jewish organizations—the Board of Deputies of British Jews, Movement for Reform Judaism, and Rabbis for Human Rights.

As I said, the Scottish church gave ground in some areas, but stood firm in others—and overall it deserves to be commended for its final vote on the matter. Other churches could do far worse than follow their example.

هذا ما يبتغيه «حزب الله» من القصير

ينتظر الرأي العالم الكلمة التي سيلقيها الأمين العام لـ«حزب الله» السيد حسن نصرالله، غدا، لمناسبة «عيد المقاومة والتحرير» من أجل الاستماع الى شرحه لحيثيات مشاركة الحزب في معركة القصير السورية، والتي جعلت الحملة الداخلية والخارجية عليه تعنف، وصولا الى حد المطالبة بعزله لبنانياً كما اقترح رئيس حزب «القوات اللبنانية» سمير جعجع، والعمل على محاصرته دولياً عبر طلب بريطانيا إدراجه رسمياً على لائحة الاتحاد الأوروبي للإرهاب.

لم يعد انخراط الحزب في مواجهة القصير ملتبساً. عناصره تقاتل علنا، وتشييع شهدائه يتم في وضح النهار. بالطبع، ترتب هذه المشاركة المباشرة في القتال المزيد من الضغوط على الحزب الذي يدرك أن لكل خيار كلفته، وبالتالي فهو يعتبر انه إذا كانت مساهمته في معركة القصير ستلحق بعض الأضرار الجانبية به، فإن الانكفاء يسبب لاحقاً خسائر أكبر وأفدح، على المستوى الاستراتيجي.

ولعل رئيس «تيار المردة» النائب سليمان فرنجية كان الأكثر صراحة ووضوحاً عندما قال ان معركة القصير هي لحماية المقاومة. بهذا المعنى، تسود الحزب قناعة راسخة بأن قتاله في سوريا هو خيار اضطراري يندرج في صلب المواجهة مع اسرائيل والولايات المتحدة والدفاع عن فكرة المقاومة وحماية لبنان من خطر التمدد التكفيري، وليست الغارات الإسرائيلية على دمشق والحضانة الغربية والإقليمية للمجموعات المسلحة سوى إشارة صارخة الى جوهر الصراع وطبيعته.

الرؤية واضحة ولا لبس فيها لدى «حزب الله»: «في العام 2006 هاجمنا الإسرائيليون بدعم من الأميركيين وبعض المتواطئين العرب من الحدود الجنوبية للقضاء على المقاومة، ففشلوا. هذه المرة يعيدون الكرّة لكن عبر سلوك طريق دمشق التي يعتقدون أنها يمكن أن توصلهم الى إضعاف حزب الله في لبنان والجمهورية الإسلامية في إيران، بعد قطع العقد من وسطه».

يعتقد الحزب نفسه، حسب أحد قيادييه، «أن الخصم ينظر الى محور سوريا ــ إيران ــ «حزب الله» باعتباره يشكل سلة واحدة وكلاً لا يتجزأ، بحيث إنه حتى إذا رغب أحد أطرافه في تحييد نفسه فإن الجبهة المضادة ترفض تحييده».

وعليه، يرى الحزب أن الخصم يتصرف دائما على أساس أن النجاح في ضرب إحدى حلقات السلسلة الممتدة من طهران الى ببيروت مروراً بدمشق يعني تلقائياً توجيه ضربة الى المحور كله وإضعافه بمجمله. انطلاقا من هذه المقاربة، يعتبر الحزب أنه «من غير الجائز السماح باستفراد سوريا، ليس من منطق التبعية للنظام أو لطهران، وإنما من منطلق أن المركب واحد، وغرقه يعني غرق كل من على متنه».

وهناك من يستعيد على وقع معارك القصير المعادلة الشهيرة التي أطلقها السيد نصرالله مؤخرا بقوله ان لسوريا أصدقاء حقيقيين لن يسمحوا بسقوطها في أيدي اسرائيل وأميركا والجماعات التكفيرية، وهي رسالة يبدو أن مفعولها بدأ يسري تدريجياً على الارض، علما أن العارفين باستراتيجية الحزب يؤكدون أن حلفاء الرئيس بشار الأسد يمكن أن يذهبوا أبعد بكثير في مساندته، إذا توسع دخول العامل الإسرائيلي أو الغربي على خط الأزمة، لأنه من غير الوارد الاكتفاء بالتفرج على إسقاط الدولة السورية الذي ستليه محاولة إسقاط المقاومة في لبنان والإطباق على إيران.

بالمعيار الميداني المباشر، يصر الحزب على أن حضوره في معركة القصير هو حضور دفاعي بامتياز. ليس منطقياً من وجهة نظره أن ينتظر حصول هجوم على الهرمل ومحاصرتها حتى يتحرك، لا سيما أن القصف العشوائي الذي تعرضت له المنطقة، مرات عدة، وضعها في دائرة النار وجعلها رهينة الاحتمالات الصعبة، عدا أن القرى السورية التي يقطنها لبنانيون في الريف بقيت تواجه حالة من عدم الاستقرار، حتى بعد صد محاولات اقتحامها أو استعادة ما سقط منها، لان المسلحين كانوا يعاودون الاعتداء عليها انطلاقا من القاعدة الخلفية لهم والمتمثلة في مدينة القصير التي باتت تشكل تهديداً واسعاً لمحيطها السوري واللبناني.

ووفق المعلومات، فإن وجود عناصر «حزب الله» على جبهة القصير يتركز جغرافياً في الجهات التي تمثل امتداداً للعمق اللبناني والقرى السورية المحاذية للحدود، فيما يتولى الجيش النظامي العمليات العسكرية في الجهات المطلة على العمق السوري من الناحيتين الشمالية والشرقية.

لا يخشى الحزب من التداعيات الأمنية أو المذهبية لخياره الميداني في سوريا على الداخل اللبناني. من منظاره، التحريض عليه ليس جديداً وهو متواصل منذ العام 2005، ومحاولات إثارة الفتنة قائمة بمعزل عما يحصل في سوريا، بل ان منع القضاء على الدولة السورية يساهم برأيه – في الحد من مخاطر انتشار الفوضى في لبنان واتساع التوتر المذهبي في ساحته.

عندما كان أحد نواب «حزب الله» في الجنوب، يقدم لعائلة أحد شهداء القصير شرحاً عن ظروف استشهاد ابنها، وهي عائلة غير حزبية، انبرى الوالد للقول: «الثمن كنا سندفعه، لكن هل ندفعه غدا كلنا في كل ساحات لبنان، أم تكون شهادة ابني ورفاقه حماية للبنان ولو على أرض سوريا وعلى حساب بعض أهل سوريا الذين يحق لهم أن يعترضوا على النظام».

القضاء على إرهابيين في القصير وإعادة الأمن والاستقرار إلى بساتين الوعر

في هذه الأثناء واصلت وحدات من جيشنا الباسل اليوم عملياتها ضد أوكار المجموعات الإرهابية المسلحة في مدينة القصير وعدد من مناطق حمص وأوقعت العديد من أفرادها قتلى ومصابين.

وذكر مصدر عسكري لـ سانا أن وحدات من جيشنا الباسل قضت صباح اليوم على 20 إرهابيا ودمرت 7 سيارات محملة بذخيرة وأسلحة في منطقة ضهر القضيب وجنوب الملعب البلدي في مدينة القصير.

وأضاف المصدر إنه تم القضاء على أعداد من الإرهابيين في الحارة الشمالية وغرب السوق التجاري شمال دوار محطة السكك الحديدية بالقصير.

وفي إطار عملياتها العسكرية المتواصلة في مدينة القصير قضت وحدات من جيشنا الباسل اليوم على عدد من متزعمي المجموعات الإرهابية.

وذكر مصدر مسؤول لمراسل سانا في حمص إن وحدات من جيشنا الباسل دمرت سيارتين مزودتين برشاشات ثقيلة وعددا من الدراجات النارية وأوقعت 13 ارهابيا قتلى في الحارة الشمالية من المدينة.

وأضاف المصدر إنه تم تدمير عدد من أوكار متزعمي المجموعات الارهابية بما فيها من أسلحة وذخيرة إضافة إلى تفكيك عدد كبير من العبوات الناسفة التي زرعها الارهابيون لإعاقة تقدم قواتنا المسلحة.

وأشار المصدر إلى أن وحدة من جيشنا الباسل قضت على عدد من أفراد المجموعات الإرهابية المسلحة في الحارة الجنوبية بينهم قناصون.

وبالتوازي مع العمليات المتواصلة في مدينة القصير واصلت وحدات من جيشنا الباسل عملياتها في الريف الشمالي للمدينة لإحكام الطوق على الارهابيين ومنعهم من الفرار حيث تم تدمير عدد من أوكارهم في تلك المنطقة.

وأشار المصدر إلى أن وحدات من جيشنا الباسل دمرت أوكارا وتجمعات للإرهابيين في قرى وبلدات الضبعة والرستن والغنطو وتلبيسة وبيت حجو وتل الغار وكيسين والعامرية وعقرب بمن فيها من إرهابيين وأسلحة وذخيرة.

من جهته قال مصدر عسكري إن وحدات من جيشنا الباسل أعادت الأمن والاستقرار إلى بساتين الوعر بحمص بعد أن دمرت آخر تجمعات وأوكار الإرهابيين فيها.

وكانت وحدات من جيشنا الباسل عثرت في بساتين الوعر خلال ملاحقتها للإرهابيين على معمل لتصنيع العبوات الناسفة وقاعدة لإطلاق الصواريخ وثلاث مشاف ميدانية تحتوي كميات كبيرة من الأدوية المسروقة في حين قضت وحدات أخرى على تجمعات للإرهابيين شمال جسر قزحل على طريق حمص مصياف وفي أحياء باب هود والخالدية والورشة والحميدية والقرابيص وجورة الشياح بمدينة حمص.

ولاحقت وحدات من جيشنا الباسل مجموعات إرهابية مسلحة تابعة لـ "جبهة النصرة" في الحولة والرستن ودمرت عتادهم وأسلحتهم وألحقت بها خسائر كبيرة.

وأشار مصدر مسؤول في المحافظة إلى أنه تم تدمير مقر لتدريب الإرهابيين وعدد من أوكارهم ومخابئ اسلحتهم وذخيرتهم في وادي السايح وبساتين الوعر بمن فيها من إرهابيين وأدوات إجرامية.

وأحبطت وحدة من جيشنا الباسل محاولة إرهابيين التسلل فجر اليوم من الأراضي اللبنانية عبر جبال البريج قرب مدينة القصير وأوقعت العديد من القتلى في صفوفهم.

وذكر مصدر مسؤول لمراسل سانا إنه تم تدمير سيارات الإرهابيين وآلياتهم بما فيها من أسلحة وذخيرة.

وأضاف المصدر أن وحدة ثانية من جيشنا الباسل أوقعت قتلى ومصابين في صفوف مجموعات إرهابية حاولت الدخول عبر منطقة حسياء إلى مدينة القصير لمؤازرة الإرهابيين الذين يتلقون ضربات قاسية على أيدي جيشنا الباسل.

وأشار المصدر إلى أنه من بين القتلى ثلاثة من متزعمي المجموعات الإرهابية وهم خالد الشقيع ومحمد أحمد شوفان وجمعة ناصر.

Saudi royals are living a raucous underground lifestyle

A number of the ruling al-Saud monarchy in Saudi Arabia together with some celebrities are squandering huge sums of money on drugs and debauchery, according to a senior cleric.

In a televised interview, Ali al-Maliki said that these individuals - all enjoying immunity from prosecution - excessively indulge in sensual pleasures, crazy partying and wild night parties often consuming a lot of alcohol.

He added that he has heard about the ongoing promiscuity in the country from several youths, who used to attend the parities but are remorseful of their past deeds.

Maliki also pointed to the massive flow of narcotics into Saudi Arabia, noting that members of the governing regime are involved in smuggling and trade of illicit drugs.
Saudi Arabia is the world's largest oil exporter, with the black gold accounting for 90 percent of the country's exports.

However, corruption is so ingrained in Saud Arabia’s royal family that despite the country’s enormous oil money, it struggles with problems such as poverty and unemployment.

Job growth and welfare programs in Saudi Arabia have failed to keep pace with a booming population that has soared from 6 million in 1970 to 28 million today, according to a report published in December 2012 by the Washington Post.

The report added that in Saudi Arabia, “poverty and anger over corruption continue to grow. Vast sums of money end up in the pockets of the royal family through a web of nepotism, corruption and cozy government contracts, according to Saudi and US analysts.”

Assad Stresses Role of Arab Powers to Face Extremists, Takfiris

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday stressed the important role which the national and regional powers can play in facing extremist and takfiri thinking and confronting the foreign plots targeting the Arab people, State-run news agency reported.

Receiving a Tunisian delegation on Thursday, Assad highlighted the necessity of adhering to the Arab principles and identity and the values of Arabism to stand up to the changes witnessed in the Arab arena.
The meeting touched upon the latest developments in Syria and Tunisia and the changes witnessed in the Arab region in general.

He briefed the Tunisian delegation on the dimensions of the crisis in Syria and the firm Syrian stance on confronting terrorism and its regional and international supporters and on the possible political solution.

For its part, the delegation expressed the Tunisian people's solidarity with Syria and their appreciation of Syrian army steadfastness and unity in the face of the foreign conspiracy and aggression led by the Zionist entity, some regional countries and the West.

The delegation consisted of representatives of Tunisian political, economic and popular movements, headed by Dr. Shukri Bin Suleiman Harmasi, Secretary General of the Tunisian al-Thawabit (Immutable Principles) Party.

Pointing out that Syria is targeted for adhering to resistance and committing to Arab causes, the Tunisian figures described it as "the last stronghold of Arab nationalism," stressing confidence that it will come out of its crisis victorious under the leadership of President al-Assad.

"This victory will be a victory for all the Arabs because Syria is considered "the last line of defense of Arabism and the highest national interests," they said.

Expressing sorrow and apology for some misled Tunisians’ participation in the Syria violence, the guests noted that Tunisian people have succeeded to a large extent in reducing the flow of extremists towards Syria.

“Many Tunisian young people demand to participate in the popular resistance on the Golan front and stand by their Syrian brothers in the face of the Zionist occupation,” they added.

President al-Assad also talked about the deep brotherly relations binding the Syrian and Tunisian peoples, which were reflected by the Tunisians through the marches which they have staged in support of Syria.

PCHR Weekly Report: 17 civilians wounded, including 12 children, by Israeli troops this week

In its Weekly Report On Israeli Human Rights Violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories for the week of 16 - 22 May 2013, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) found that 3 Palestinian civilians were wounded during incursions in the West Bank. In addition,14 protesters, including 12 children, were wounded during peaceful protests at the entrance of al-Jalazoun refugee camp, north of Ramallah.

Israeli attacks in the West Bank:

During the last week, Israeli forces conducted 65 incursions into Palestinian communities in the West Bank. 32 Palestinian civilians, including 2 children and 2 women, were abducted in the West Bank.

During the reporting period, Israeli forces wounded 17 Palestinian civilians, including 12 children. 3 civilians were wounded during incursions in the Palestinian communities, while 14 others, including 12 children, were wounded in peaceful protests in al-Jalazoun refugee camp, north of Ramallah.

On 17 May 2012, 3 Palestinian civilians were wounded. The first one was wounded when Israeli forces moved into Beit Ummar village, north of Hebron, while the other two ones were wounded by the newly-employed Tutu bullets when Israeli forces moved into al-Aroub refugee camp, north of Hebron, as Israeli forces have recently resumed using snipers to disperse Palestinian demonstrations using Tutu rifles, which are sniper rifles with a small barrel.

Israel continued its efforts to create Jewish majority in the occupied East Jerusalem. Israeli forces demolished 8 houses, a man was obliged to demolish his own house and 84 civilians became homeless.

On Saturday, 17 May 2013, Nader al-Sherif destroyed his own house, in the occupied East Jerusalem, in order to avoid being sent to jail or paying the destruction fees and other fines that the Israeli Municipality in Jerusalem would impose on him. The house, made of bricks and tin, is of 45 square metres and is occupied by a family of 11 members.

On Monday, 20 May 2013, Israeli forces demolished a part of Taiser Abdul-Rahman Sabbah Abu-Snaina's (53) house, located in al-Masharef mountain in the northern side of the occupied East Jerusalem, in Karm Louis area near Sho'fat military checkpoint. The house is of 27 square metres in area, established in 1963, and it was occupied by a family of 12. On the same day, Israeli forces bulldozed the al-Joulani car showroom in al-Shaikh Jarrah neighbourhood.

On Tuesday, 21 May 2013, Israeli forces bulldozed 3 residential buildings and 61 civilians became homeless.

Israeli forces established dozens of checkpoints in the West Bank. 3 Palestinian civilians were abducted at checkpoints in the West Bank.

On Thursday, 16 February 2013, Israeli forces razed more than 40 dunums of farmlands which are planted with approximately 700 olive, fig and grape seedlings that are between 1 – 3 years in 'Aqraba village, southeast of Nablus. They also demolished a water well of 200 cubic metres, used to irrigate the crops, and destroyed the fence surrounding the plot of land, which is the property of Ayham Seirya. Israeli forces claimed that these lands are closed military areas.

On Monday, 20 May 2013, Israeli forces moved into al-Buq'a area, east of Hebron, imposed a curfew on Palestinian civilians and opened a dirt road leading to the farmlands of al-Jaber family, uprooted a water irrigation system and confiscated it. The bulldozed lands are property of Mohammed Aref Darwish al-Rajbi and Badawi Fawaz Arief al-Rajbi.

Also on Monday, 20 May 2013, Israeli forces, accompanied by a number of military vehicles and two bulldozers, moved into the eastern Bart'a village, which is isolated from its surroundings because of the annexation wall in the west of Jenin, and destroyed 5 shops. The destroyed shops are 5 barracks used by their owners for business, and they were destroyed under the pretext of being in area (C).

On Monday, Israeli forces, accompanied by 3 military vehicles and a vehicle of the Israeli Civil Administration, moved into Arab al-Hathaleen area, which is adjacent to the Khurbat Uml-Khair, in the east of Yatta, in the south of Hebron and placed notices to halt construction work for 7 establishments.

Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip:

In the Gaza Strip, Israeli navy forces continued to pursue the Palestinian fishermen in the sea. On 19 May 2013, Israeli forces abducted 2 fishermen and confiscated their fishing boat off al-Waha resort, northwest of Beit Lahia, in the north of the Gaza Strip. On 20 and 22 May 2013, Israeli gunboats opened fire at the Palestinian fishing boats that were sailing within the 6 nautical mile limit off al-Waha resort, in the north of the Gaza Strip. Neither casualties nor material damage were reported.

On 21 March 2013, the Israeli authorities allowed the Palestinian fishermen to sail up to 6 nautical miles instead of 3 as had been enforced since 21 March 2013 as a form punishment against the Palestinian civilians. This decrease constitutes a violation of the agreement between Hamas and the Israeli authorities following the latest Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip.

Israel has continued to impose a total closure on the Occupied Palestinian Territories and has isolated the Gaza Strip from the outside world.

Israeli navy forces continued to target Palestinian fishermen in the Gaza Strip sea. 2 fishermen were abducted and their boat was confiscated in the north of the Gaza Strip.

Fishermen were pursued and their fishing equipment was confiscated off Deir al-Balah shore.

Israeli settlement activities:

Israeli forces have continued to support settlement activities in the West Bank and Israeli settlers have continued to attack Palestinian civilians and property.

On Thursday, 17 May 2013, engineering teams coming from "Kiryat Arba" settlement, established on Palestinian civilians' lands in the east of Hebron, under the protection of Israeli forces, surveyed a dirt road that Palestinians use to access their lands in al-Husaine valley area, in the east of the city, to pave the way for establishing a new road for settlers that leads to the Ibrahimi Mosque, in the center of the old city of Hebron.

On Saturday, 18 May 2013, a group of settlers from "Beit El" settlement, in the north of Ramallah, threw stones and Molotov cocktails at Palestinian vehicles while passing through the main road to al-Jazloun refugee camp, which is adjacent to the afore-mentioned settlement. As a result, a 2001 Mercedes taxi burnt out after it was hit by a Molotov cocktail.

On Monday, 21 May 2013, a group of settlers from "Havat Gilad" settlement, north of Qalqilya, set fire to lands which belong to Palestinians from Tal village, southwest of Nablus, near Amateen and Far'ta villages in the north of Qalqilya. Israeli forces also abducted 18-year-old Nash'at Emad Sowan, from Amateen village, while standing near his house and took him to an unknown destination.

Israeli attacks on non-violent demonstrations:

Israeli forces continued the systematic use of excessive force against peaceful protests organised by Palestinian, Israeli and international activists against the construction of the annexation wall and settlement activities in the West Bank. As a result, dozens of protesters suffered tear gas inhalation and others sustained bruises as they were attacked by Israeli soldiers. Of the wounded was Rasila Mahmoud Awad (60), who fainted and was taken to Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah.

In the same context, the Palestinian civilians organized many peaceful protests in support with the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails, especially those on hunger strike. Israeli forces used excessive force to disperse these protests. As a result, 14 civilians, including 12 children, were wounded.

On 17 May 2013, 9 civilians, including 8 children, were wounded in protests at the southern entrance of al-Jalazoun refugee camp, north of Ramallah.

On 19 May 2013, 3 others, including 2 children, in protests in the same area.

On 21 May 2013, 2 children were wounded during a peaceful protest in the abovementioned area. According to Maariv newspaper, the Israeli army has recently resumed using snipers to disperse Palestinian demonstrations; this technique was used at the end of last week near the settlement of Beit El in eastern Ramallah, using Tutu rifles, which are sniper rifles with a small barrel (0.22 inch caliber bullets).

Recommendations to the international community:

Due to the number and severity of Israeli human rights violations this week, the PCHR made several recommendations to the international community. Among these were a recommendation that the UN General Assembly transfer the Goldstone Report to the UN Security Council in order to refer it to the International Criminal Court in accordance with Article 13(b) of the Rome Statute.

In addition, the PCHR calls upon the United Nations to confirm that holding war criminals in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is a precondition to achieve stability and peace in the regions, and that peace cannot be built on the expense of human rights and victims.

Lebanon’s Palestinians are Being Pulled into Syria’s War

Historically, Palestinian refugees, wherever they have sought temporary sanctuary following the ethnic cleansing of their country by the 19th century Zionist colonial enterprise, and pending their return to Palestine, have insisted on avoiding local and international conflicts while seeking a modicum of interim rights from the host countries.

This was true in Jordan during the run up to Black September in 1970, at the beginning of the Lebanese Civil war in 1975, the 1991 Kuwait crisis, the 2003 US invasion of Iraq and obtains especially today in the current crisis in Syria. For a number of reasons including poor tactical decisions by their leadership they have not always succeeded, and consequently they have paid steep price in lives, jobs, housing and expulsions from host countries.

In Syria, both the largest Palestinian refugee camp, Yarmouk, with its 125,000 residents, and Khan al-Sheeh, the second largest of the 14 camps with 45,000 before the crisis but currently swelled by another 26,000 mainly from Yarmouk camp, have become virtual war zones with large sections of the camps being overrun by gunmen fighting in support of the “Free Syrian Army.” All but two of the camps in Syria have been infiltrated by opposition forces and consequently have been targeted by government forces seeking to destroy the rebels. At times the camp residents have resisted both sides by demanding that the camps' normally strict neutrality be respected. Engaging initially in peaceful protects when outsiders invaded, some protests turned violent when their demands for camp neutrality were rejected.

Khan al-Sheeh, whose residents are from tribes and clans in northern Palestine, and who lost 22 camp residents to Zionist occupier gunfire during the May 2011 Nakba Day events on the Golan Heights, will be a formidable foe if they take up arms which they have not done for the past 33 years.

In January 2013, the Syria conflict entered into the camp when opposition forces -- a combination of Free Syrian Army (FSA) and al-Nusra Front fighters -- arrived and insisted on recruits, offering $200 per month cash, free cigarettes, a uniform, boots and of course an AK-47.

For the past five months, again like Yarmouk, Khan al-Sheeh and the other camps in Syria have been caught in the crossfire as opposition fighters try to advance toward the capital, while regime forces used cannons and rocket fire to block their advance, resulting in hundreds of civilian deaths and injuries. This week, so far in vain, the camp popular committees yet again appealed to both sides to observe a ceasefire within any Palestinian camp in Syria and also in Lebanon, the latter currently experiencing increased challenges for its 12 camps to stay out of the conflict.

Pressuring Lebanon’s camps to join Syria’s war

Lebanon’s widely respected independent leftist daily, As-Safir, has reported that veteran security and intelligence officers of the Lebanese security services are claiming to have information, but not precise details regarding number and location of “organized Takfiri (Sunni) networks” in Lebanon. The head of one security service told As-Safir, “the monitoring of the terrorist networks cannot be very detailed since they are solely located in the Palestinian camps, mainly in Ain el Helweh.”

This statement, like others these days in the Lebanese sectarian media, appears intended to incite the public against the refugees, inducing them to join the fighting. Another officer, closely working on the Lebanese government “terrorism" file, claims, again without offering any probative or material evidence, that “the only serious faction in Lebanon right now consists of the Ziad al-Jarrah Units that are affiliated with the Abdullah Azzam battalions." Both have some Palestinian gunmen. Abdullah Azzam is the most experienced group and it is present in Ain el Helweh. The officer indicated that he agrees with the general theory that as long as the military situation in Syria remains unsettled, the Lebanese Palestinian camps are open to all possibilities, including Palestinian armed involvement.

Other calls are being heard from Beirut, Saida and Tyre in the south, and also up north in Tripoli for Palestinians to comply with the fatwas being issued for all Sunni to fight the Bashar Assad regime and to build a “Sunni army” patterned after the Lebanese civil war-era PLO forces. How significant is the sentiment favoring this dangerous call is unknown. However, in all of the above noted areas, some Palestinians, mainly unemployed youngsters have been lured by offers of cash to take part in training, much like occurred before the 26 month old Syria conflict.

Some Salafist-jihadist types in Lebanon, especially near Tripoli’s Bedawi, and Nahr al Bared camps, as well as Ain el Helwe down south in Saida, are pushing among Palestinian youth the argument that if they join the war in Syria they will gain the internationally-guaranteed civil rights that all the other refugees receive except Palestinians in Lebanon. Part of the argument being pitched is that they are not going to get even elementary civil rights in Lebanon from Israelis, the UN or the international community, and certainly not from the EU or the Americans. Palestinians in Lebanon’s camps are being lectured that they will get civil rights here only when they take them by force, which is their right and their jihadist religious duty.

These arguments will fail, with few exceptions, among the quarter million Palestinian refugees actually still in Lebanon, as they have in the past. But the Palestinians' decent into deepening sectarian and religious divisions here in Lebanon is worrisome. Scholars, political analysts and even elements of the National Lebanese Resistance are counseling that an effective, moral, religious, and political measure that could bring Sunni and Shia together in Lebanon, while thwarting the schemes being hatched to get the Palestinians involved in the Syrian crisis, would be for the Lebanese Parliament to use 90 minutes of its ample free time -- in as much as the Parliamentary elections will not take place next month as scheduled -- to address the issue of Palestinian civil rights in that country.

By using 20 minutes of the proposed 90, recommended by the Palestine Civil Rights Campaign here, Lebanon’s Parliament can, in one fell swoop, reach out to the Sunni community and the Christian community (about 90% of Palestinians in Lebanon are Sunni and approximately 10% Christian) by employing a quick and tidy yea-nay vote to repeal the 2001 racist law that forbids home ownership for Palestinian refugees here. This law outlawing the home ownership civil right for Palestinians only, as expressed by the two initial sponsors still in Parliament, was only originally meant as a 2001 election year gimmick to garner anti-Palestinian votes and not ever intended to be implemented.

History teaches us that the 2001 law was in fact part of the anti-Palestinian “pay-back” for the PLO’s involvement in the fifteen-year Lebanese civil war (1975-1990). In what many Palestinians in the camps here objected to then and continue to view as a cataclysmic error, its leadership ignominiously withdrew from Lebanon in the late summer of 1982, under Zionist and Reagan administration pressure and false promises of an immediate Palestinian homeland.

With the remaining 70 minutes, the Resistance-dominated Parliament could reach out to the Sunni and Christian communities as noted above and grant Palestinian refugees in Lebanon the same right to work that every refugee everywhere has, including those in the apartheid state of occupied Palestine. The same right as everyone is immediately granted when their passport is stamped at any Lebanese border post.

This single act by Lebanon’s Parliament, would help repair Shia-Sunni relations globally and would dampen down -- and expose for what they are, the extremist Salafist-jihadist-Wahhabist incitements to religious hatred, both intra-Muslim and Muslim-Christian. It would also, according to several Palestinian NGO’s working in Lebanon, keep Palestinians out of the Syrian conflict.

Allowing Palestinians in Lebanon the internationally guaranteed right to work, would also, according to studies by the UN International Labor Organization and other academic studies, substantially build up Lebanon’s fragile economy by creating more than twice the number of jobs that they would be employed at, including those in the 32 professions currently outlawed for Palestinian refugees.

Battle for Qusayr: Terrorists’ Supply Routes Totally Cut

Syrian Army continued Thursday its military operation in the northern city of Qusayr and the rest of its countryside chasing the terrorist groups deployed in the area.

The second stage of the Qusayr battle was launched Wednesday, inflicting the opposition militant groups heavy losses and arresting many of their members.

Al-Manar TV correspondent reported that fierce clashes took place Thursday between the terrorists and the Syrian army in the northern quarter and western part of Basateen village.

“Qazmaniya in the eastern Ghotta was reclaimed,” he said.
“The second round will represent a great step towards resolving the battle,” he noted citing high rank Syrian source.

“The new round includes cutting off all the main routes which terrorists might use to escape the army blows; cutting off most of the terrorists’ supply routes; and dismantling mines and roadside improvised explosive devices (IED) planted by terrorists,” the correspondent added without elaborating further for security reasons.

However, the so-called ‘Qusayr Coordinator’, an opposition media outlet on Facebook, admitted the killing of Bakr al-Mostafa, one of the takfiri leaders in the city, whose nickname was "Qasyoun".
The coordinator also reported "violent attack” the terrorists are suffering from the eastern part of the city.

On the other hand, Syrian army defeated an infiltration attempt of militants from Lebanon across the mountains of Bureij near Qusayr city.

Many of them were claimed by machine guns of the Arab Syrian Army.

“A military unit has responded to an armed group that was trying to infiltrate into Qusayr through the Hasbaa area to aid the terrorists,” Syrian official source told SANA news agency.
“Among the dead were three of the armed groups’ leaders," he said.

Also reported by Al-Manar TV correspondent, the Syrian army confronted militants attempting to infiltrate from the Qaa’ projects in Lebanon through Baa’youn Valley to the Josya area.

“They suffered heavy losses as well,” he added, pointing out that they still have the ability to respond to Syrian fire, which is a strong evident of their huge supply of arms.

Qusayr city lies on the northern Syrian border with Lebanon, where terrorists and armed opposition gunmen are located and smuggle weapons to the militant groups across Syria.

The Syrian Army launched on Sunday a large-scale operation to clear the area of terrorist gangs and liberate the citizens stuck there.

Battle for Qusayr: First Stage Ended Successfully, Second Stage Launched

Syrian Army continued Wednesday its military operation in the northern city of Qusayr and the rest of its countryside.

“Army units were able to restore security and stabilization to the Akkari Farm and Tal Sarr, along with chasing militants in Hamidiya town of Qusayr countryside,” state-run news agency SANA reported.
Also in the border town, SANA said that tunnels have been detected in the western quarter used by terrorists to move and store weapons and ammunition, in addition to dismantling dozens of improvised explosive devices planted by militia militants inside citizens’ homes and on public highways in the city to prevent the progress of the Syrian courageous army.

Citing high rank military sources, Al-Manar TV correspondent reported that first stage of Qusayr operation has been ended successfully on Wednesday and the second stage has just been launched.
Qusayr city lies on the northern Syrian border with Lebanon, where terrorist groups and armed opposition gunmen are located.

Militants from Lebanon were detected Tuesday entering the Syrian territories to fight by the side of terrorist takfiris against the regular army. However, many of them were killed.

The Syrian Army launched on Sunday a large-scale operation to clear the area of terrorist gangs and liberate the citizens stuck there.

Preparing For Geneva 2

The Syrian army has stopped an attempt at entering al Qusayr to rescue the opposition that has been trapped inside al Qusayr in the northern part of the city and the fifteen intruders were all killed and their equipment destroyed . The Coalition of the Opposition head , George Sabra, had issued orders for the thugs to rescue the trapped fighters in al Qusayr .
Meanwhile, the battles have resumed today in the northern part of al Qusayr . It is worthwhile saying that the events the Syria -that started as what they called revolution – has now become a security issue , what the so called revolution is doing is just threatening the security of Syria and the Syrians and hopes to use this in future negotiations. This situation will last probably till after Geneva 2 and maybe until the presidential elections scheduled for 2014 where Assad is expected to be the major candidate gathering the approval of more than 60% of the population who will vote for him in democratic elections out of their free will .
The situation in Tripoli has been escalating and the Lebanese Army has evacuated its positions in the troubled area after it has been targeted by the thugs who abide by the orders of Hariri . The orders have not been issued by the government to the army to act and protect the troubled area and while some are accusing the minister of defense , the truth is that the order should be issued by the whole cabinet to the army and the cabinet- that is resigned but still administering the country is divided upon this issue.
The Coalition of the Opposition will meet now for three days in Istanbul to decide for its stand in the Geneva 2 Conference- which Syria has agreed basically on attending- and to elect its new leadership. There is a tendency to replace George Sabra by Michel Kilo of the local opposition to give the Coalition the secular color it needs after its extremism and fanatic and criminal behavior have been largely exposed and to limit the power that Qatar and Turkey have over it , but this will not solve the problems the opposition is facing that is division and absence of unity and – above all- corruption .
At the same time the Arab foreign ministers are meeting in Cairo – today- under the auspices of the Arab League and with the presence of Russian and Turkish ambassador as observers . all this to come up with a decision regarding Syria and prepare for the Geneva Conference in June .
Israel has now gathered more than 30 thousand soldiers in the Golan heights and will start soon extensive maneuvers that will mimic the shelling of Israeli settlements by hundreds of missiles.
What has not been disclosed by the media is the number of Arabs who are coming now to Syria to join the Syrian Army and to volunteer in the Syrian People committees, among them martyrs have fallen in battles like Egyptian martyr Shehade Mohammad Metwalli.

Major study sheds new light on CIA secret prisons

Today sees the launch of the “Global Rendition System” database and interactive map – the most comprehensive resource so far created illustrating the CIA’s programme of renditions and secret prisons as part of the ‘war on terror’.

On the eve of President Obama’s major speech on counter-terrorism policy, the database illuminates the transportation network used to implement the US Government’s programme of “rendition, detention and interrogation”, which traversed Asia and Europe in a string of secret prison sites, ultimately sending over 800 men to Guantanamo Bay – where 166 remain.

The database – a collaboration between Reprieve and the Rendition Project based at Kingston and Kent Universities – uses data from freedom of information requests, legal cases, published first-hand accounts, investigations by NGOs and authoritative news reporting to detail dozens of prisoner transfers between secret “black sites”. Through analysis of more than 11,000 flights by over 120 aircraft, linked to more than 50 private companies, the site reveals the roles of different countries and shows how companies tried to cover their routes by filing false flight plans or by switching aircraft halfway.

Reprieve and the Rendition Project compiled documents from Reprieve’s Renditions Inc. investigation with previous work by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights in Warsaw, the Human Rights Monitoring Institute in Vilnius, Access Info Europe and other NGOs and investigators worldwide. All of the site’s source material is made publicly available and search results can be downloaded for further research and analysis. The data is plotted on an interactive map – users can zoom in on countries, flight routes and known or possible prisoner transfers, and move through the network via studies of individual cases and summaries of corporate complicity.

A recent report by The Constitution Project’s Task Force on Detainee Treatment – chaired by former Bush-era officials – heavily criticised the US’ programme of rendition and torture, pointing out the key role of European countries noting that the “CIA created its own…‘black sites’ in…Poland, Romania and Lithuania.”

Sam Raphael from the Rendition Project said: "The sheer scope of the CIA's rendition and torture system is brought to light as never before by our work, which shows in painstaking detail how terror suspects were kidnapped and transported to secret prisons across the globe for 'enhanced interrogation'.”

Crofton Black from Reprieve said: “This unprecedented database shows how false route filings, tarmac transfers, shell companies and the plausible deniability of executive jets masked a systematic programme of secret detention and torture run by the US with the active complicity of the UK and other European countries.”

كشفت مصادر مطلعة لـ"الحقيقة" في بيروت أن أكثر من نصف عناصر حزب الله الذين يقاتلون في ريف حمص هم من "المسلمين السنة"، وهذه هي إحدى المفاجآت التي لم يتوقعها أحد، باستثناء الذي يعرفون الوحدات القتالية للحزب في منطقة صيدا وريفها وتركيبها " الطائفي والمذهبي"، حيث يوجد مئات المقاتلين في صفوفه من "المسلمين السنة" الناصريين وذوي الميول السياسية الأخرى، بما في ذلك الملتزمون دينيا منهم. وكان أعلن اليوم عن استشهاد واحد من هؤلاء في مواجهات ضد "جبهة النصرة" و"الفاروق" في مدينة القصير السورية يدعى صالح الصباغ ، الذي شيع مساء اليوم إلى مقبرة آل عسيران في صيدا بعد أن منعهم مسلحو الأخوت الكركوزاتي أحمد الأسير من دفنه في مقبرة "صيدا الجديدة" باعتباره "سنيا يقاتل تحت راية حزب شيعي"! وكان على رأس مشيعي الصباغ المهندس أسامة سعد، رئيس التنظيم الشعبي الناصري وعدد من مسؤولي حزب الله في الجنوب.

وقال موقع "صيدا الآن" ، المقرب من آل الحريري، إن أحمد الأسير ، وفور ورود أنباء تشييع الصباغ إلى مقبرة صيدا، عقد اجتماعا لمسلحيه عمدوا بعده إلى اعتراض الجنازة بالسلاح ، وعندها تدخلت "الجماعة الإسلامية" ( الأخوان المسلمون في لبنان) للوساطة بين الأسير وآل الصباغ "درءا للفتنة وانفجار مواجهة بين الطرفين"، لكنها فشلت في إقناع الأسير بالسماح لذويه والتنظيم الشعبي الناصري دفن فقيدهم، الأمر الذي دفعهم إلى دفنه في مقبرة "آل عسيران" الشيعة!

يشار إلى أن عددا معتبرا من الشهداء المسلمين"السنة"ومن"المسيحيين"، والشيوعيين اللادينيين أيضا، سقطوا تحت راية الحزب في مناسبات مختلفة، لاسيما في حرب تموز 2006 وخلال حرب تحرير الجنوب من الاحتلال الإسرائيلي. وهو ما يجعل منه الحزب الإسلامي الوحيد في العالم الذي يقبل"مجاهدين" من طوائف أخرى ومن غير المؤمنين الانضمام إلى وحداته العسكرية"الجهادية"!

Kerry Admits Syria Gains in Qusayr, Urges Assad to Commit to Peace

US Secretary of State John Kerry admitted on Wednesday the Syrian Army has achieved great gains in the northern border city of Qusayr, but saying they are not permanent.

Ahead of a meeting of the so-called ‘Friends of Syria’ group in Amman, Kerry called on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to make "a commitment to find peace in his country."

In the same context, Kerry threatened if President Assad is unwilling to negotiate on peace terms, U.S. and other countries will discuss increasing support to Syrian opposition, without elaborating what kind of support they will offer.

US Congress committee voted on Wednesday on a bill to arm Syrian terrorists in their fight against the Arab country.

Speaking at a press conference with his Jordanian counterpart, Nasser Judeh, Kerry said a US-Russian proposed conference in Geneva seeks "to end the bloodshed what has cost tens of thousands of lives."

"We are committed to try to work this evening to find the unity in specific approaches, to find the unity to implement Geneva 1...that will allow the people of Syria to choose the future of Syria," he said.

That was a reference to an international conference last June in which several steps were laid down for ending the war, which were never implemented.
The foreign ministers of Britain, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the United States are attending the Amman gathering.

The meeting seeks to discuss US-Russian proposal to hold a peace conference dubbed "Geneva 2" to bring together the opposition and representatives of the Syrian government.

President Vladimir Putin - well aware that the Geneva talks are being derailed by various actors even before they happen - moved Russian naval vessels to the Eastern Mediterranean; and offered Syria a batch of ultra-modern ground-to-sea Yakhont missiles plus a batch of S-300 anti-aircraft missiles - the Russian equivalent to the American Patriot. Not to mention that Syria already has Russian SA-17 anti-aircraft missiles.

Now try, any one of you NATO-GCC gang, even bypassing the UN, to unleash a mini-Shock and Awe on Damascus. Or to install a no-fly zone. Qatar and the House of Saud, militarily, are a joke. The Brits and France are seriously tempted, but they don't have the means - or the stomach. Washington has the means - but no stomach. Putin was dead sure the Pentagon would read his message accordingly..."

أوقات الشام

لم يختلف اثنان على دقة تقييم زيارة رئيس وزراء الكيان الصهيوني إلى روسيا، وعلى أنها منيت بفشل ذريع، قياساً على الأهداف التي وضعتها القيادة “الإسرائيلية” وترجمها إعلامها بفروعها العبرية والعربية والدولية،

بأن أعطى الزيارة التي كانت أشبه باستدعاء روسي لبنيامين نتنياهو لمدة ثلاث ساعات خلال المكالمة الهاتفية التي أجراها الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين معه قبل سويعات قليلة، وبعيد العدوان الجوي “الإسرائيلي” على محيط دمشق، عنواناً كبيراً قياساً إلى حجم تل أبيب مع موسكو الفتية من حيث استعادة دورها الدولي.

العنوان “الإسرائيلي” للزيارة، هو سعي نتنياهو لدى روسيا إلى إجهاض صفقة المنظومة الصاروخية للدفاع الجوي (اس اس 300)، وأن ذلك هو الدافع الوحيد وراء الزيارة، لا بل سرت تسريبات مصدرها تل أبيب أن زيارة نتنياهو جاءت لتحذير بوتين أن تلك الصواريخ لن تردع “إسرائيل” عن مهاجمة سورية مستقبلاً.

لكن الحقيقة هي أعمق بكثير، لأن بوتين شخصياً سرب قبيل وصول نتنياهو إلى الأجواء الروسية، أن موسكو زودت فعلاً سورية بمنظومة صاروخية، وهذا يعني أن لا معنى من طرح هذه المسألة، وبمعنى آخر، أن لا فائدة من المحاولة في هذا الإطار، كما أن وزير الخارجية الروسية سيرغي لافروف أعلنها صريحة أن موسكو تعتزم إتمام صفقة صواريخ اس اس 300 الموقعة عام 2010.

وبمجرد وصول الرسالة الروسية الشديدة اللهجة بالعرف الدبلوماسي، استدعى نتنياهو رئيس شعبة الاستخبارات العسكرية افيف كوخافي للاستعانة به في تغيير وجهة النظر الروسية الراسخة بأن العدوان على سورية هدفه تعزيز موقع وزير الخارجية الأميركية في اللقاء مع نظيره الروسي قبيل الاتفاق على حل سلمي للأزمة السورية عبر مؤتمر دولي، والقول إن الغارات هدفها منع نقل أسلحة متطورة إلى “حزب الله”، وكذلك تضليل الروس بمعلومات مزيفة قوامها أن الجيش السوري استخدم أسلحة كيمياوية ضد المعارضة، بينما يطرح الأمر نفسه رئيس الوزراء التركي رجب أردوغان أمام الرئيس الأميركي باراك أوباما، وبالتالي الانتقال إلى الملف النووي الإيراني بهدف كسر الموقف الروسي من قضيتين جوهريتين بالنسبة لموسكو.

صحيح أن “إسرئيل” لديها قلق غير مسبوق من صواريخ اس اس 300 الأكثر تطوراً في العالم للدفاع الجوي، إذ تتميز بقدرات فائقة على مواجهة الصواريخ البالستي، كما الطائرات الخفية، لكن غاب عن بال نتنياهو وأجهزة استخباراته، أن الروس موجودون في سورية، والقيادة الروسية تمتلك معلومات كافية ووافية عن أي موضوع أكثر من أي طرف آخر في العالم كله، ولذلك فشل نتنياهو ورئيس استخباراته في التمرير أمام بوتين بوجود مدير الاستخبارات الروسية أيضاً، ما يرمي إليه، لا بل إن الرئيس الروسي أفهم الزائر الخبيث أن موسكو لا يمكن خداعها وكان الأفضل عدم اللجوء إلى استخدام محاولات تضليل فاشلة، وأن بوتين شخصياً لا يقبل بأي معيار أن يتذاكى عليه أحد.

أما الخلاصات المستقاة من الزيارة، فهي على الشكل التالي:

1- إن الأكاذيب “الإسرائيلية” لن تمر على القيادة الروسية، وبالتالي، فإن هناك تحذيراً واضحاً وقوياً بأن أي عدوان على سورية، وتحت أي ذريعة، سيكون هناك رد لن يعجب تل أبيب، سيما أنها تساند الإرهابيين في سورية.

2- موسكو لا ولن تثق بـ”إسرائيل”، وهو ما أعلنه رئيس أكاديمية الدراسات الجيوسياسية؛ الجنرال ليونيد ايفاشوف، سيما أنها لا تلتزم المبادئ العالمية للأمن.

3- إن منظومة اس اس 300 وصلت منها أربع بطاريات إلى سورية بعد صواريخ ياخونت المدمرة للبوارج وقطع حربية بحرية، فضلاً عن صواريخ قاتلة الدبابات، ما يعني ذلك أن روسيا لا تمزح ولا تستسيغ المزاح أصلاً.

4- لقد رسخت موسكو – بوتين مفهوماً سياسياً أن تجاوزها بأي شأن عالمي ولّى ولم يعد مسموحاً، خصوصا في الشرق الأوسط.

خلاصة الأمر، إن روسيا العائدة بقوة إلى المسرح الدولي بلا استثناء، باتت الآن في وضع الدفاع عن حلم تحقق.
