Did Mossad hit Algeria?

The last Friday of the Muslim-fasting month of Ramadan – was declared as International Al-Quds Day by Imam Khomeini in 1981. The Israeli Mossad choose the day to hit another Muslim nation after its bombing of United Nations building in Abuja (Nigeria) a few days ago. This time its victims were 36 people including 12 Algerian officers in training at Algerian military academy in Cherchell while they were at an Iftar (breaking of day’s fasting) party inside the military academy compound. The suicide bombing injured another 20 people.

Algeria’s Army Chief of Staff, Gen. Gaid Salah flown in to investigate the incident. Niether the phony Al-Qaeda nor the supporters of Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) has taken credit for this false-flag operation.

In July 2007 – Said Sahnoun, a Algerian newspaper correspondent was sentenced to 10 year in jail for being a Mossad agent. He was accused of passing information on Algerian Army to Israel.
In March 2010, Algerian security forces arrested an Israeli spy in Hassi Messaoud, Alberto 35, for entering Algeria on a fake Spanish passport. He was bound to meet pro-US Salafi terrorist groups in Algeria. Some of them have fought along anti-Qaddafi rebels. John Pistole, deputy director FBI travelled to Libya to plead for Alberto.

It has been reported by some local and foreign sources that the so-called ‘Islamic Terrorists (GIA)’ in Algeria is a French-Israeli front to demonize true Islamic groups.

Maj. Gen. David Hogg has admitted that Washington is training Algerian military officers to help AFRICOM’s land forces fighting Zionists’ wars in Africa. He believes that fighting Islamic groups (Boko Haram in Nigeria) and the anti-Israel regimes (AFRICOM did take part in war on Qaddafi) is part of his job.

Swedish-Algerian journalist Yahya Abu Zakariya, had claimed recently that Mossad was behind Oslo terrorism.

In 1954, Israeli Col. Benjamin Givli, revealed the purpose of Lavon Affair, during which several British assests were targeted by Mossad in Egypt: “Our goal is to break West’s confidence in the existing (Gamal Abdul Nasser) regime. The actions should cause arrests, demonstrations and expression of revenge. The Israeli origin should be totally covered while attention should be shifted to any other possible (Muslim Brotherhood) factor”.
Algeria gained indepence from France in 1962 after the death of over 250,000 Algerian men, women and children at the hands of French soldiers during country’s independence struggle. In June 1991 election, FIS won an absolute majority but Algeria’s secular military elites carried out a coup with French help to stop Islamists taking power. The most shocking for the West was the news that more than 40% of the FIS elected MPs were educated in western universities with a significant numbers holding PhDs.

The notorious anti-Muslim French Jewish ‘philosopher’, Bernard-Henri Levy, was born in Algeria in 1948. He played a major role in the division of Pakistan into Bangladesh – and now he is playing dirty hand against Bashar Assad, President of Syria on behalf of Israel.

Professor Abdul-Sattar Qasem detained by PA

[ 26/08/2011 - 08:33 PM ]
NABLUS, (PIC)-- A magistrates court judge decided on Thursday to detain Abdel-Sattar Qasem, Professor of political science at Najah University, for 15 days without charge.
Qasem’s wife said that the detention was extended to 15 days despite the fact that his lawyers completed the procedure for bail.
She added that the hearing was delayed until noon on Thursday to thwart his lawyers’ efforts to get him freed on bail before the weekend.
Observers believe that Qasem’s detention is because of his criticism of the Ramallah PA and the administration of Najah University in an article in which he criticised the arbitrary expulsion of 4 students and refusing to take them back despite the fact that the students got a court ruling in their favour.

Too early for Palestinian Statehood: Law professor warn of risks to join the United Nations

A nine page "legal independent " document warning of the risks involved in the Palestinian initiative to join the United Nation, has been written by Guy Goodwin-Gill, a professor of public international law at Oxford University, and a member of the legal team that won the 2004 non-binding judgment in the International Court of Justice: that the route of the Israeli wall is illegal.

According to professor Goodwin-Gill, he have been asked for his opinion, by the Palestinian team responsible for preparing the United Nations initiative: "regarding certain issues related to the popular representation, the representation of the views of the Palestinian people" - which according to professor Goodwin-Gill: "may arise incidentally, to the current proposal to seek the recognition of the state of Palestine, and the observer status for the State in United Nations".

The Palestinian team, headed by Saeb Erekat, has been preparing an initiative to swap the PLO at the United Nations, replacing it with the State of Palestine as the representative of the Palestinian people.

Professor Goodwin-Gill explain his opinion as follow ( excerpts) :
"This opinion seeks only to identify problems potentially affecting the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the manner by which that right can or may be exercised, due account being taken of the will of the people. The purpose is simply to flag the matters requiring attention, if a substantial proportion of the people (having a particular interest in, among others, the right of return) are not be to be accidentally disenfranchised."

“The interests of the Palestinian people are at risk of prejudice and fragmentation, unless steps are taken to ensure and maintain their representation through the Palestinian Liberation Organization, until such time as there is in place a State competent and fully able to assume these responsibilities towards the people at large. In my opinion, current moves to secure recognition of statehood do not appear to reflect fully the role of the Palestinian people as a principal party in the resolution of the situation in the Middle East.”

Palestine State constitution Palestinian refugees and UN Security Council

The acting PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas visit to Lebanon this week was arranged to discuss the Lebanese recognition of a Palestinian statehood, which was successfully completed by the transfer of status from the Representative office of the PA in Lebanon, to the Embassy of Palestine. Preparations were conducted to coordinate efforts of the diplomatic battle initiated by the Palestinian Authority, for the UN recognition of the State of Palestine, since Lebanon is currently a member of the Security Council.
The PA chairman and accompanying delegation, also met during this visit with several Lebanese figures, including the Lebanese President Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister Najib Mikati with whom Mr. Mahmoud Abbas also inaugurated the official opening of the Embassy of Palestine.

This official Palestinian visit to Lebanon raised important questions about the status of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. Firstly, Palestinian refugees are not citizens of a Palestinian state which at the present only include the West Bank, the eastern part of Al-Quds and the Gaza Strip. While a greater part of Palestinian refugees are inhabitating the cities, the towns and villages of the occupied 48 – Palestine. Will these Palestinians keep their status of refugees, pending their return to Palestine - as required by law and human rights first, then the international Resolution 194, which calls for the return of refugees and the compensation for their confiscated property?
These issues are extremely important especially since several months ago a battle have raged around the role of UNRWA, which is the UN body, specially established to aid improvement to Palestinian refugees in the areas of housing, education and work, pending their return to their home. But without addressing the issue of UNRWA in this essay, thus it is necessary to not avoid what is coming into prominence in a time of confidence crisis between the parties involved.
We are troubled to the breaking point by the fact that the well-established framework of UNRWA will decrease its service to Gaza. UNRWA has for many years had one purpose in common: to provide education, food, housing and employment to Gaza. UNRWA to 90 % funded by contributions from UN member states are aiding some 5 million registered Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and the Palestinian Territories. However, in Lebanese camps the living conditions of the Palestinian refugees are deplorable, often cited in reports as locations of grievous mistreatment The UN Agency have launched a new watchdog organization in Gaza, "UNRWA- Watch " to monitor the performance of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees.

But Abbas, has never visited Palestinian refuge camps. While stating refusal to permanent settlement of refugees in host countries, including Lebanon, he restated his rejection of the right to the means of weaponry in Palestinian camps in Lebanon, ahead of his scheduled visit to seek support for the Palestinian bid for U.N. recognition – Abbas said to the Lebanese authorities that –“we will hand over weapons anytime you wish ” – In short demilitarize Palestinian refugee camps, thus the Palestinians deny that most organizations, including Fatah does not have access to weaponry.

Mahmoud Abbas statements were granting concessions to his Lebanese interlocutors regarding the matter of permanent settlement of refugees; the Lebanese reject the greater number, not in a form of patriotism, but to preserve a confessional balance which remains the foundation of the Lebanese state.

Maintaining the status of refugees and the right of return
In the Palestinian camp, questions arise about the deeper meaning of the visit to Lebanon, and by extension, that of the proclamation of a Palestinian state in the United Nations Security Council next month.

For his part, the official representative of Islamic Jihad in Lebanon, Abu Hajj 'Imad Rifa'i, expressed the Palestinian refugees feeling of agitation and anxiety concerning the impending UN recognition of a Palestinian state. Beyond the important issue of the right to carry arms, while welcoming the change of status of representation to the PLO, as part of the diplomatic battle led by the Palestinian Authority - "we believe that any achievement is acquired by our people against the Zionist enemy, and furthermore we are facing the U.S. administrations warning against a final installation project Tawtîn, aimed at hindering and liquidating the cause of the Palestinian refugees.

We therefore call to distinguish between the issue of Palestinian refugees and the role of the Palestinian embassy in Lebanon. The connection to the Palestinian embassy in Lebanon and the Palestinian refugees seriously threatens our cause, which is the heart of the Palestinian question. A telling example: The proposals raised by some, of providing passports to refugees. These passports would be issued by the office of the Palestinian consul in Beirut, which in reality mean the liquidation of the refugee cause and a steep step towards the removal of the Palestinian right of return, and the deprivation of the right to claim it back.
Hajj Abu Imad stressed that the issue of passports has no serious consequences because it means changing the legal status of Palestinian refugees, they were expelled from their land occupied in 1948 and recognized worldwide as what they become, subjects resident of other countries. The cancellation of refugee status means the dismantling of UNRWA, with serious consequences involved.

The greatest and most significant problem is the discharged of the international community from its responsibility to the suffering, caused by the erection of the Zionist entity for more than sixty years ago, still depraving the Palestinian refugees' right to claim back their land and their homes, as they have become subjects of an entity which area is a limited part of the historic Palestine, recognized as a State of the Zionist enemy on Palestinian land. "

The representative of the Islamic Jihad, Hajj Abu Imad stated that:” One must distinguish between raising the level of diplomatic representation, and the issue of the Palestinian refugees. We emphasize that the responsibility for the cause of the Palestinian refugees, is entirely up to the international community, primarily responsible for the suffering of refugees, the international community is represented by UNRWA. Do not make any transformations in the direction by discharging the international community of its responsibility, or make changes in the legal status of refugees waiting to return to their land. "

Hajj Abu Imad added: "We in Islamic Jihad movement believe in the inclusion of a reference representing the unified Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, to put forth reasons against the “final installation project” which is instigated to liquidate the right of return. And we are assuming that the resolutions of all problems is, to protect the cause of Palestinian refugees, to work out a correct solution of our daily life suffering caused by our economic problems .

This statement by Abu Hajj 'Imad Rifa'I, the representative of Islamic Jihad in Lebanon, on the occasion of the visit to Lebanon by Mahmoud Abbas and his delegation, was indeed welcomed by all Palestinian organizations which continue to demand the right of refugees to return to their home.

Rallies for the return of Palestine refugees were held the 15th of May and 6th of June, in Maroun el-Ras, located at the border with occupied Palestine, and the Golan, vis a vis’ the area occupied by the Zionists, also displaying courage in the determination of refugees to fight and sacrifice themselves for the return. It is through their mobilization and structure of their motion, the Palestinian refugees will prevent the execution of such conspiracies being hatched, between the Arab capitalist and its Palestinian associates.

Sayyed Nasrallah: Lebanon Became Trap for Israel

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah said on Friday that Lebanon is no longer the weak point in this region, and stressed there will never come a day when it becomes so. His eminence highlighted that Lebanon now poses a problem to Israel, one it is seeking to escape.
Sayyed Nasrallah renewed belief that the so-called Special Tribunal for Lebanon was politicized, and stressed everything the STL issues is worthless, as “the noble accused will have their reward on Judgment Day.” He warned against efforts to target the army and the resistance, and said that everyone who incites against the Army is actually serving Israel.

His eminence warned that positive or negative developments in Syria would affect the region, and called on Arab states to combine their efforts and end the unrest in Syria. He also promised the Israeli enemy that the pure land of Palestine will return to its owners.
Sayyed Nasrallah was speaking through a large TV screen as he addressed crowds during a ceremony marking Al-Quds Day, in the southern border town of Maroun al-Ras, the venue of battles between mujahedeen and Israeli occupation forces in July war 2006.
His eminence started his speech by highlighting Hezbollah decision to commemorate Al-Quds Day this year on the pure land of Maroun al-Ras. “We chose this land for the location signs, as the sacrifices of the South citizens and the Resistance turned lots of towns and locations to symbols,” Sayyed Nasrallah said.

His eminence recalled that this land had seen a few months ago a historic and heroic stand of Palestinian men, women and youth from Lebanese camps. “Here, Palestinians reiterated their commitment to the right of return and told the whole world that tens of years will not succeed in transforming Palestine to something from the past.”

“We commemorate this occasion to reserve it as our duty,” Sayyed Nasrallah said. His eminence stressed that the Resistance commemorates this occasion to affirm that Al-Quds and Palestine are part of the main Islamic values. “Al-Quds and Palestine are part of our religion, culture, fast in Ramadan, prayers and Jihad,” his eminence said.

EILAT OPERATION WITNESS OF ENEMY’S WEAKNESS
Hezbollah Secretary General reiterated that Palestine is from Sea to River. His eminence warned against the process of Judaizing Al-Quds, in relation to sanctities. “We should be wary of its destruction and the construction of more settlements,” his eminence said, as he stated that the Arab League and Organization of Islamic Conference, among others, have responsibilities towards Palestine.

Sayyed Nasrallah declared that no one has the right to dispose of any part of Palestinian land, oil or gas. His eminence said that declaring a Palestinian state according to the 1967 borders was a Palestinian issue. “However, a Palestinian State shouldn't be at the expense of rights and borders,” his eminence highlighted.

“The Palestinians have the right to negotiate over the 1967 borders but they should not take place at the expense of the rest of Palestine as we aspire for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state,” his eminence added.

“We should remember the West Bank's issues, 1948 land and people, and refugees, especially in Lebanon,” Sayyed Nasrallah said. “We should remember that all these problems are due to the occupation, as the problems in Palestine are the result of the occupation and we should therefore tackle that cause just as Lebanon handled Israel’s occupation of the South,” his eminence went on to say, as he pointed to the call of Imam Khomeini to deal with the causes of the problems, which is here the occupation. “Our Ummah suffers problems with Israel because of the occupation.”

Sayyed Nasrallah noted that one day after another, the Palestinian people confirm they have chosen the path of Resistance. “Eilat operation witness of our enemy's weakness,” his eminence said. While noting that changes today in the region are very important for the Palestinian cause and Al-Quds, his eminence stressed that any negative developments affecting the Palestinian cause should be dealt with immediately.

Hezbollah Secretary General tackled the latest developments in Egypt, and highlighted the popular and official positions being made, which are a sign of a new phase in Egypt. “Had Hosni Mubarak still been in power, the official Egyptian stand would have reprimanded the Palestinians for the Eilat attack,” his eminence pointed.

While noting that there was a huge difference between encouraging the Israeli aggression against Gaza and warning against the repercussions of such adventure, Sayyed Nasrallah said that there is a strategic change in Egypt after the revolution. His eminence noted that Israel was surprised by the Egyptian reaction, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he can't launch ground campaign against Gaza, because it would negatively affect the relation with Egypt. “The Egyptian position is gradually shifting towards the better,” his eminence said.

GADDAFI’S CRIMES AGAINST PEOPLE

“One of Gaddafi’s crimes against the Palestinian cause was the kidnapping of Imam Moussa al-Sadr and his companions,” Sayyed Nasrallah said, as he stressed that the abduction was a favor to the Zionists. “We all know what does Sayyed Moussa al-Sadr represents for the Resistance and the Palestinian cause. He had been detained in order to target the Lebanese and Palestinian resistances. Should Sayyed Mousa al-Sadr still with us, outcomes would be positively different for the Resistance and the Palestinian cause.”
Hezbollah Secretary General called on Libyan’s revolutionists to put an end for this human cause, and expressed hope Sayyed Moussa al-Sadr and his two companions Sheikh Mohamad Yaaqoub and Journalist Abbas Badreddin would return alive to Lebanon.

Sayyed Nasrallah also noted that Gaddafi’s regime has committed the crime of distancing Libya from Palestine and its cause. “We hope revolts in Libya return their country to Palestine. We also know that the Libyan people will face the test of confronting the Americans’ onslaught of the country’s resources. Libyans today have to meet expectations of sovereignty.”

LAND LIBERATED DUE TO SYRIA’S SUPPORT

On Syria, Sayyed Nasrallah said that the Syrian regime is well committed to the Arab rights. “The Syrian regime had prevented the elimination of Palestinian cause, and this shouldn’t be forgotten,” Sayyed Nasrallah said. “We are pleased with the Syrian people and leaders’ commitment to national principles and Arab rights given the international pressure that did not destabilize the Syrian leadership. Had it succumbed to the pressure, Palestine would have been lost. Syria supported resistance in Lebanon and Palestine,” his eminence stressed.

“The land on which you sit now has been liberated due to Syria's support,” Sayyed Nasrallah said, addressing the crowds. His eminence pointed out that Syria’s support of the Resistance, Lebanon, and Palestine is very important. “Resistance would not have been able to liberate the South without Syria’s help,” his eminence stressed.

Touching reforms, Hezbollah Secretary General said that reforms should make Syria more powerful. “We all support reform in Syria given its important position in the region,” Sayyed Nasrallah said. While noting that efforts should unite to calm the situation down in Syria, his eminence warned that the United States is not interested in reforms in Syria, but it is concerned with concessions and international pressure is delaying reforms.

“Those seeking sectarian incitement and NATO want to transform Syria into Lebanon, i.e. rife with sectarianism. Some sides are seeking to break up Syria as part of a new Middle East agenda, which we destroyed in Lebanon and Palestine.”

LEBANON WILL NO LONGER BE WEAKEST LINK

Turning to the Lebanese issues, Sayyed Nasrallah said the Lebanese position became different today. There used to be fears that any solution in the region would take place at Lebanon’s expense, but we have gotten rid of these concerns. Lebanon will no longer be the weakest link in the region,” his eminence stressed. While noting that a strong Lebanon will be able to protect its sovereignty and independence, Sayyed Nasrallah vowed not to allow some Lebanese to sell Lebanon and Palestine to the US and a settlement will not take place at Lebanon’s expense.

Hezbollah Secretary General said that there have been fears of tensions with Lebanon. “This age has been gone, as Lebanon became a trap for Israel,” his eminence said. “Lebanon now poses a problem to Israel, one it is seeking to escape,” his eminence added.

As he noted that Israelis were greed in Lebanon's resources, Sayyed Nasrallah reiterated commitment to the formula of 'Resistance, People and Army’. According to his eminence, efforts have been made for years to break up the equation of the army, people, and Resistance through seeking strife and targeting the Resistance. Therefore, Sayyed Nasrallah said, Lebanese people hold the responsibility of maintaining this golden formula.

EVIDENCE BASELESS, WITHOUT LEGAL VALUE

Sayyed Nasrallah, who explained the different stages of targeting the Resistance in Lebanon, tackled the latest development in this context, represented by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and its indictment. Sayyed Nasrallah renewed belief that this international tribunal was fully politicized, and that evidence is baseless and they have no legal value. “When we try to explain, we do so to make facts more clear, not to convince STL activists. The conferences we held on the indictment were not addressed to Judges Daniel Bellemare (STL Prosecutor) and Daniel Fransen (Pre-Trial Judge), but the people so they can become aware of the new conspiracy.” His eminence concluded that everything the STL issues is worthless. “The noble accused will have their reward on Judgment Day.”

WHOEVER TARGETS ARMY SERVES ISRAEL

Hezbollah Secretary General highlighted that the army is the one guarantee for Lebanon’s stability and targeting it is aimed at sectarian incitement. While noting that successive governments didn't work fairly with the Lebanese Army, his eminence emphasized that there are some in Lebanon who call upon other countries to weaken the Lebanese Army. “Anyone who targets the army is serving Israel. I am not accusing anyone of being a traitor. The equation of the army, people, and Resistance alone can thwart Israel.”

His eminence undermined all statements made by political leaders of sovereignty and independence, referring to the so-called March 14 bloc.” All statements of sovereignty and independence are empty words because the Cedar Revolution was directed by Jeffrey Feltman and the French ambassador,” his eminence declared. “Yes, Feltman was the leader of the Cedar Revolution, and we have evidence.”

PURE LAND WILL RETURN TO ITS OWNERS

To end, Sayyed Nasrallah promised the crowds that they will smell inside Palestine. “I say to you and those Zionist soldiers alerted at the borders: this pure land will return to its owners,” his eminence said. “God willing this good earth will be returned to its people,” his eminence concluded.

UN Warns Rebels Amid Signs of Tripoli Executions

Posted: August 26, 2011 by crescentandcross

Rebels Mass Arresting Blacks as Assumed “Mercenaries”

antiwar.com
A grisly scene was discovered in Tripoli today, when reporters came across a former Gadhafi camp in central Tripoli where pro-regime fighters were found massacred, including a number that were bound before their execution.
In a discovery the UN termed “alarming,” a number of the victims were also found in the field hospital, having been executed there while receiving treatment for wounds. Reports have the death toll in this single incident at over 30.
UN spokesman Rupert Colville promised an investigation into the killings, and urged rebel leaders to “take active steps to ensure that no crimes, or acts of revenge, are committed.” One rebel ambassador insisted the leadership had already ordered fighters “not to kill anybody” and that it couldn’t possibly have been the rebels who massacred the Gadhafi troops.

Yet the growing concern about the behavior of the rebels hardly begins or ends with this single incident. Amnesty International is also reporting that the rebel faction has been conducting mass arrests of black people across the nation, terming all of them “foreign mercenaries” but with growing evidence that a large number were simply migrant workers.

In rebel custody, the migrant workers are subjected to routine beatings and, according to testimony from one of them, they are told by rebel guards that they will be “eliminated or else sentenced to death.”

Libya: Keep the Freedom Flame Alive

Trapped for days in Tripoli's Rixos Hotel, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) arranged for the release of over 30 foreign journalists yesterday.

They're now at the Corinthia Hotel, awaiting a boat for transport to Malta, then home via Europe that can't arrive until fighting subsides. Given the chaos and violence, it could be a while.

Among them are heroic independent journalists, unable to report vital truths on the ground. For now, only their safe passage home matters, but what they witnessed firsthand will be sorely missed.

As a result, it'll be much harder to know what's ongoing. Rest assured, this writer and others will report what's known as fully and accurately as possible to keep the freedom flame for all Libyans alive.
They deserve no less in light of what NATO has in mind, including carving up the Libya corpse for profit.

In fact, scrambling for its oil began began last April when Italy's Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said energy giant ENI CEO Paolo Scaroni had talks with Transitional National Council (TNC) officials "to restart cooperation in the energy sector and get going again the collaboration with Italy in the oil sector."

In June, the Washington Post said ConocoPhillips, other US oil giants, and related companies also held talks with TNC officials. Engineering firm Quantum Reservoir Impact CEO Nansen Saleri said:

"Now you can figure out who's going to win, and the name is not Gaddafi. Certain things about the mosaic are taking shape. The Western companies are positioning themselves. Five years from now, Libyan production is going to be higher than right now and investments are going to come in." Or so he hopes.

Though accounting for only 2% of world production, Libya is Africa's most oil rich state. Moreover, its high quality is especially valued, and reports suggest vast reserves yet to be explored.

On August 22, New York Times writer Clifford Krauss headlined, "The Scramble for Access to Libya's Oil Wealth Begins," saying:

The fighting hasn't ended, "but the scramble to secure access to Libya's oil wealth has already begun."

In fact, vultures began circling months earlier, believing Libya's corpse was only a matter of time. Perhaps so. Perhaps not. Despite all the hoopla, the jury is very much out.

Nonetheless, besides ENI and ConocoPhillips, other companies wanting back in include Britain's BP, France's Total, Spain's Repsol YPF, Austria's OMV, America's Hess, Marathon, perhaps ExxonMobil, and others.

Excluded will be Russia, Brazil, and especially China on orders from Washington, calling the shots absent Gaddafi, at least for now.

Moreover, the Obama administration and NATO partners prepared a detailed plan for Libya without him, including a United Arab Emirates-supported occupation force, supplemented perhaps by UN Blue Helmets.

In other words, lost Libyan sovereignty will be replaced by paramilitary occupiers under a puppet government serving Western interests, not Libyans. The very notion should inspire continued resistance as in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere.

The Mossad-connected DEBKAfile's information can be right or wrong. That said, on August 23, it claimed "(t)housands of fighters from tribes loyal to Qaddafi are reported (to be) streaming to Sabha" in southwestern Libya where some believe Gaddafi may have fled.

"Prominent among them (are) members of his own Gaddadfa tribe," numbering about 100,000, based in Sirte on the coast between Tripoli and Benghazi.

DEBKA said UK, French, Jordanian and Qatari Special Forces "spearheaded the rebel 'killer strike' " on Tripoli and Gaddafi's Bab al-Azaziya compound. It's the first time Western and Arab troops "fought together on the same battlefield in any of the (2011) Arab revolts, and the first ever that Arab forces took part in a NATO operation."

Western elements involved included UK SAS commandos, and France's 2REP (similar to US DELTA force units) along with Jordanian Royal Special forces, "specialists in urban combat and capturing fortified installations...." Qatari special forces are also participating.
Despite other conflicting reports, DEBKA claimed Tripoli is largely under rebel control, adding "there is quite a way to go before the war is over." Based on continuing Afghanistan and Iraq hostilities, maybe longer than DEBKA or others imagine.

On the Progressive Radio News Hour (taped Thursday for Saturday airing), Law Professor Francis Boyle told listeners to expect continued conflict, as well as the danger of greater general war regionally, and perhaps beyond. He's not alone believing it, including Webster Tarpley who sees protracted civil war.

He and others also reject reports that Tripoli is largely in rebel control, saying unresolved street fighting continues.

The Big Lie Vying with Truth and Accuracy
Throughout months of conflict, an information war falsified pro-NATO/insurgent victories.

The idea, of course, is controlling the message, confusing the enemy, and making Libyans as well as populations in NATO countries believe things are going as planned, heading for victory.

In fact, conditions in Tripoli and elsewhere are chaotic. Nothing is resolved, and at issue is whether larger NATO forces will get involved if insurgents can't prevail.

So far, they've created mayhem, supplemented by heavy bombing and strafing. It's also believed that rebel forces incurred heavy casualties. Without air support, they'd have been easily routed.

On August 24, Voice of Russia broadcasting said:
"Russian agencies quote Ukrainian medical workers in (Tripoli) speaking of chaotic shooting, barricad(ing) building(s), carjacking(s) and mass looting around. Residents try to stay indoors."
"Eyewitnesses say armed gangs have ransacked the Embassy of Bulgaria and attacked the Embassy of South Korea and the residential compound of the Ambassador of Ukraine."
Fighting in Tripoli continues. As a result, "(a)nalysts believe it is too early to say that the rebels are in full control...."

So early, in fact, that major media gloating, disinformation, and managed news distort reality on the ground. Moreover, their exposed lies show nothing they report is credible.

The closest thing to truth and accuracy from The New York Times were a few admissions in Anthony Shadid's August 24 article headlined, "After Arab Revolts, Reigns of Uncertainty," saying:
"....Libya's unfinished revolution, as inspiring as it is unsettling, illustrates how perilous that change has become as it unfolds in this phase of the Arab Spring."
Fact check

A Western-instigated insurgency continues, not a revolution. Extremely violent and "unsettling," it's hardly inspiring for millions of Libyans who've suffered hugely since NATO and insurgent killers arrived.

As for the "Arab Spring," at best it hasn't bloomed, not even close, in fact, despite how inspiring it is to people throughout the region to continue struggling for rights long denied them.

Shadid did include a few kernels of truth, calling the TNC leadership "fractured and opaque." He added that enlisting "foreigners" as insurgents is "the kind of intervention that has long been toxic to the Arab world," and transitioning "to a new order (anywhere) may prove....tumultuous."

In Libya, Egypt, Bahrain, Tunisia, and elsewhere in the region, it falls short of exhibiting democratic birth pangs nowhere in sight, what Shadid neglected to mention.

Also omitted was what government spokesman Dr. Moussa Ibrahim explained - that pro-Gaddafi forces control 20 cities and other areas across the country, adding:
"(W)e will continue fighting till Gaddafi comes back to power once again in Libya. The entire leadership is in Tripoli. The lawful armed forces (army and volunteers) control the city."
That's a far different picture from what NATO and Western media liars claim, as well as disreputable academics like Professor Juan Cole, saying in an August 22 article:
"The Libyan Revolution has largely succeeded, and this is a moment of celebration, not only for Libyans but for a youth generation in the Arab world that has pursued a political opening across the region."
"The secret of the uprising's final days of success lay in a popular revolt in the working-class districts of the capital....so (successful, in fact) that when revolutionary brigades entered the city from the west, many encountered little or no resistance, and they walked right into the center of the capital."
The above and Cole's entire article reeks of misinformation, distortions, and ball-faced lies. It represents a shameless display of intellectual dishonesty, combined perhaps with someone who knows better on the take.

Sadly, he's not alone, highlighting Big Lie power and deep pockets backing it - major media regurgitated official discourse in place of truth and accuracy. When repeated enough, it convinces most people unwilling to check facts to believe it.

Most true perhaps is that conditions continue to be fast-moving, fluid, chaotic, violent, and far from resolved. Also true is Gaddafi remains overwhelmingly popular. In addition, Libyans revile NATO and insurgent killers they want no part of. As a result, they may wage a tougher, longer fight than expected.

Whether it's enough to prevail over NATO remains to be seen. What's clear is that most Libyans hope so.

So do others believing everyone has the right to live free from imperial domination.

Maybe the Arab Spring spirit will inspire Libyans and others in the region and elsewhere not to quit. It's their only chance.

Israeli "Response" to Gaza: Blurring the Line

While I was in London last week, I discussed Israel's ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip with Palestine solidarity activist Frank Barat and filmmaker Sophie Stern. During our lengthy conversation, I described how Israel's doctrine of "asymmetrical warfare" has deliberately blurred the line between civilians and soldiers, and how Israeli military and legal theorists have marketed the doctrine to the West in order to unravel international law:

The military doctrine that governs Israel's behavior in Gaza does away with two of the 4th Geneva Convention's most important components: The Principle of Proportionality, which requires militaries to respond to attacks with proportionate force in order to avoid harming civilians, and the Principle of Distinction, which requires militaries to distinguish between civilians and combatants. As one of the authors of the doctrine, Asa Kasher, remarked, "If it's between the soldier and the terrorist's neighbor, the priority is the soldier."

Unsurprisingly, the philosophy behind Israel's recent attacks on the Gaza Strip has produced a shocking number of civilian casualties. Yesterday, after agreeing to a cease fire with Hamas, Israeli forces killed ten people in Gaza and wounded 30 others. Only a small fraction of the casualties were known resistance fighters. The death toll began last week when Israel deployed dubious evidence to blame a series of attacks near the Israeli city of Eilat on factions in Gaza (a week later, there is still no evidence that any Gazan faction was responsible for the attacks).

One of the first residents of Gaza killed in the Israeli airstrikes was Mahmoud Abu Samrah, a 12 year old student from the Al-Qastena School in Northern Gaza. My friend Nuha Masri met Abu Samrah two weeks ago and interviewed him about his experiences. on August 19 at 00:35, just days after Masri met him, his short life was ended.

LITTLE CHEERING IN TRIPOLI

The BBC claimed this was Tripoli, but, it is actually India.

On 27 Agust 2011, The Economist has a partly honest article on Libya
According to The Economist:

1. "The Tripolitans are not cheering all that much...
"For the most part... Tripolitans marked the exodus of their leader... by staying indoors.

"There were no mass prayers of thanks in Green Square.

"The Qatari TV station, Al Jazeera, which has acted for much of the uprising as the rebels' propaganda arm... made do with close-ups of single flag-wavers..."
2. "Loyalist forces dug in around the city’s southern outskirts.

"Tripolitans by the hundred plundered the arms depots...

"Dentists jostled with high-school children to haul Kalashnikovs off the shelves...

3. "Armed Berbers (were) apparently equipped by Qatar with sophisticated tank-piercing bullets and backed by special forces from Western powers as well as from Jordan...

"Mysterious English-accented men who strongly resemble special forces have been spotted in the western mountains as well as in Misrata helping to co-ordinate NATO’s bombardment with the rebel advance...

4. "Each neighbourhood and sometimes each alleyway erected and manned its own barricade...

5. "Guns, not civilian politics, are currently determining Libya’s future, and could yet precipitate a squabble for the country’s tantalisingly rich resources."

6. "Tripolitans are snakes," says a Berber rebel fighter heading home with a cache of stolen weapons... They carry a Qaddafi flag in one pocket and a rebel one in the other.

Libya is now to be looted.
7. "The police ... have melted away.

"The doors of the prisons, as well as the armouries, have been flung open...

"The continued closure of shops, schools and workplaces is unsettling for many.

"Without a resumption of economic activity, not to say generous and rapid pay rises, people could become restless.

8. "The rebels have ... acted wrongfully against some civilians.

"Pro-regime fighters... have been abused and possibly executed after capture.
"Similar treatment is said to have been received by some unfortunate dark-skinned immigrants.

"In June and July, according to the New York-based Human Rights Watch, rebels in the western mountains reportedly burnt buildings and beat civilians...

9. "Much of the rebel manpower is grouped into 40-plus privately organised, privately funded militias..."

Each militia "is usually drawn from one town, commanded by a respected local military veteran or, in some cases, by the businessman who financed it.

"They drive privately owned pickups or jeeps with mounted anti-tank or anti-aircraft guns, captured from government arsenals or supplied by foreign benefactors."

10. "A group of protesters holding a sit-in outside NTC headquarters last week said that they suspected senior council leaders of having cut a deal with a handful of Libyan political groups, such as the Muslim Brothers...

"The interim constitution declares sharia to be 'the major source of legislation'.
The militias "are presumed to contain ...militant Islamists and possible former al-Qaeda associates..."

The U.S. Conquers Another Muslim Country

By Richard Edmondson

It is hard to conceive of whatever new government may emerge in Libya turning out as anything other than a U.S./NATO puppet, as Obama’s statement of Tuesday makes almost explicitly clear:

For many months, the TNC [Transitional National Council] has been working with the international community to prepare for a post-Gadhafi Libya. As those efforts proceed, our diplomats will work with the TNC as they ensure that the institutions of the Libyan state are protected, and we will support them with the assets of the Gadhafi regime that were frozen earlier this year. Above all, we will call for an inclusive transition that leads to a democratic Libya.

A “democratic Libya” that will of course, at some nebulous time in the future, hold elections under U.S. supervision. Elections controlled and manipulated by money—just like those in the America. And when the elections are over? The Libyan people, despite the oil wealth of their homeland, will lose their free health care and their near-free education, as unemployment rises and poverty grows. These of course are the same conditions that prevail in all countries whose governments follow the directives of the IMF and Wall Street. Do the people waving the Libyan “revolutionary” flags in the photos and videos we’ve seen really not know who they’re working for? Perhaps not. The devil, of course, is a master of disguises, waging war by way of deception.

The puppet leaders of this government will of course be drawn from the absolute lowest dregs of society, for these are the elements the U.S. always works with when destabilizing nations and overthrowing independent governments. Of course. Who else would cooperate in a treasonous enterprise against their own people? Only the criminally amoral. These, I feel, are the class who by and large make up the leadership of the Libyan “rebels,” and it is this same class of people who no doubt will be in the new puppet government. But it would be well for our putative “freedom fighters” to remember an age-old axiom: once you make a deal with the devil, you become the devil’s slave.

Question: What do Manuel Noriega, Saddam Hussein, Hosni Mubarak, and Muammar Qaddafi have in common? Answer: Each saw an opportunity, each made their deals with the devil (the U.S. empire), and each ended up paying a price for it. Perhaps it never even occurred to Qaddafi when, back in 2004, he made his pact with the West, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Condoleezza Rice and Tony Blair, that he would end up being treated so treacherously. Who woulda ever thought? But of course this is how the devil operates. You are kept around as long as you are useful, and then, despite any illusions of “friendship” you thought you may have had, you are summarily disposed of when it becomes convenient. The same thing will eventually happen to the new leaders in Libya, for what is demanded of slaves is always nothing less than unfailing obedience.

And what of the Palestinian Authority? How did making a deal with the devil turn out for them? Not very well as we can see.

The lesson to be learned? The way to handle evil is to resist it, not compromise with it. It’s a hard lesson, though. And humanity seems to have a very difficult time learning it. But the time is coming when it will catch on, for human consciousness is much like a metabolism: it is ever evolving.

And so the devil conquers another Muslim nation. But as he found out in Iraq and Afghanistan, the easy part of subjugating other peoples and their homelands is the initial conquest; occupying a country and maintaining order over the long term are much more difficult. And the more harried the devil becomes, the more imperious and exacting will grow his behavior toward his slaves. And you know something else? The devil knows his empire is slipping. This is good in some respects, but it also poses a grave danger, for at some point we can probably expect him to lash out blindly. The plight of Libya’s new “leaders” will therefore not be an easy one. You could almost feel sorry for them. A lone canoeist on a raging river they will very much become. The more they cooperate with their master, the more they will be despised by their own people—for good people will always resist evil, and there “will be no day when the dove loves the raven.”

A new Coloring Book For Five-Year-Old To Teach "Facts" About 9/11

'We Shall Never Forget 9/11 -- The Kids' Book of Freedom'

On the brink of the 10th anniversary of September 11th a new children's 'graphic coloring novel' has emerged, allegedly "designed to be a tool that parents can use to help teach children about the facts surrounding 9/11. This book also describes basic freedoms in America."

In the publisher official page it declares that "a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book are donated to Bridges for Peace. A Jerusalem-based, Bible-believing Christian organization supporting Israel and building relationships between Christians and Jews worldwide through education and practical deeds expressing God's love and mercy. They presently feed 26,000 people a month of all backgrounds, have brought into the land of Israel more than 36,000 Jews and renovated more than 825 apartments of the needy and elderly in the Jerusalem area. Many are Holocaust survivors."

The book starts with the September 11, 2011 event, with a picture of Osama Bin Laden as he plots the US attacks. It ends nearly 10 years later with the raid of Bin Laden's Abbottabad compound and his death, depicted him being shot while hiding behind a woman with hijab.

Its pages show both American military and Muslims with guns. But the final page of the story shows a bullet flying toward Bin Laden to kill him.

Publishers say the book 'demonstrates honesty, reverence, integrity and good character,' with 'a historic and educational perspective.'

The Executive Director for the Council on American-Islamic relations Dawud Walid called the book disgusting because it portrays all Muslims as radicals when indeed American Muslims had nothing to do with 9-11 and they were victims as well as first responders that day.

He added "This publisher is doing a disservice to innocent young minds by showing this type of nonsense. In every single reference to Muslims has to do with radical, extremists, and depictions of people being terrorists".

Spokesperson for the publisher, Wayne Bell, released a statement to Action News about the use of Osama Bin Laden and said:

"Because they see the man, Osama Bin Laden, get shot in black and white, that provides closure for them."

"closure" ? a bullet shot at an unarmed man ?

Is that what good parents want their child to see and learn from?

This is psychological child abuse.

This is indoctrination with lies, fear-mongering and rabid bloodthirsty hatred onto young children.

This is the type of publication and social engineering that is creating an era of mass murder and extermination.

Who will be the next victim?

Your child ?

"We Shall Never Forget 9/11"

The New religion is “revealed” with its own Ten Commandments:

"Thou Shall bless and serve Israel with all thy heart"

"Thou Shall put the needs and security of Israel above your own"

"Thou Shall bless the gurus of the 9/11 commission by showing loyalty to their cause"

"Thou Shall believe in the official narrative as written down by the 9/11 commission"

"Thou Shall revere the memory of 9/11 with all your heart"

"Thou Shall learn about the "facts" from a very young age"

"Thou Shall not doubt anything of what WE tell you"

"Thou Shall be called a "conspiracy theorist" if you blaspheme by asking any questions or voicing any doubts"

"Thou Shall wage a "war on terror", against the "Islamist enemy", indefinitely"

"Thou Shall sacrifice your privacy, freedom and intellect, at the altar of security"

Libya: The Ruined Revolution

This is no revolution. This is not even a popular uprising. This is a ruined revolution. Who but NATO can turn a popular uprising with revolutionary potential into a reactionary political puppet movement headed by former lieutenants of Gaddafi? Who but NATO can smash the concrete revolutionary actions of Arab youths? The dreams of those who expected a real revolutionary moment in which the entire bizarre model of government of Jamahiriyyah were trampled upon by the boots of French and British special forces.

Here was the brave people of Libya acting on their own to throw off the shackles of Gaddafi's tyranny before sinister forces with colonial nostalgia interfered. There Western forces were the same one totally infatuated with Gaddafi. The "freedom" president, George W. Bush, was paradoxically--the paradox of rhetoric only--the US president who earned the honor of normalizing relations between the Libyan dictator and Western powers. A Saudi prince, the notorious Bandar Bin Sultan, had aided Libya in reaching out to Western countries.

How could this be a revolution when NATO is now in charge?

If Egypt and Tunisia can't be said to constitute a real "revolution" in a Marxist sense, in which political and social powers are dismantled, the Libyan situation falls far short of such a criterion.
Liberals and conservatives (and former leftists) who utter NATO and “revolution” in the same sentence seem to take little note of this fact. But it is not the first time they come together to bless yet another Western military intervention. Hillary Clinton went--in a matter of weeks really--from meeting with the head of the Libyan secret police, Mu`tasim--one of Gaddafi's sons, to counting the regime’s the human rights violations, and reminding he world of its brutal nature. Obama did the same. Both flip-flopped because they have utter contempt for their Arab audiences. They really don't think that Arabs are smart enough to notice or to recall their recent stances from weeks ago, when they embraced the dictator.
The Libyan people deserve congratulations for overthrowing a dictator, but they deserve truthful warnings: that the new Libya may not fulfil the promises of freedom and prosperity. Western oil companies are scrambling to get a foothold in the new Libya, just as they competed to win favor with Qaddafi’s's regime. The Libyan Transitional Council does not bode well: it is headed by Qaddafi's Minister of Justice and his second-in-command is the former mentor of none other than Gaddafi’s son Sayf Al-Islam. The Gaddafi era may have ended, but with NATO in charge, it is likely that the new leader of Libya is another Hamid Karzai or an even more compliant client of Western powers. Mustafa Abd al-Jalil will be the weakest leader of any Middle East country; With NATO in charge, it is certain that Libya won't be free. For that to happen, the Libyan people have to rise up again, this time against the external forces of colonial powers, and against the reactionary ideologies that the new Libyan government will bring along with it.
