15/01/2009 … And on the twentieth day of Israel's deadliest offensive against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Hamas leader Said Siyam joined, alongside his son and his brother, the procession of martyrs who have fallen since the beginning of the aggression..

Indeed, Hamas announced on Thursday evening the martyrdom of Interior Minister Said Siyam, who's considering to be one of Hamas's top leaders in Gaza, vowing to retaliate through commitment to the Resistance pattern and stressing that Palestinian heroes will triumph at the end.

"Leader Said Siam, his son and his brother fell as martyrs in Gaza," reported Al-Quds television, a Hamas station based in Beirut. A Hamas website confirmed the report. The three fell as martyrs in an Israeli air strike on the house of Siam's brother north of Gaza City.

In addition to Siam, six others were martyred in the strike, which reportedly targeted a senior Islamic Jihad leader and the head of the Al-Qassam Brigades, an armed faction affiliated with Hamas.

The Israeli occupation military confirmed the strike. "In a joint operation of the Israeli Forces and the Shin Beth (internal security) a short while ago, jets attacked a building" in Gaza while Said Siam was inside with his brother Iyad and a third person," an army spokeswoman declared. "We identified hitting the target," he added.

Aluf Benn, a military correspondent, said Israeli intelligence confirmed the presence of Syam and his staff near his brother’s home before ordering the assassination.

Meanwhile, Hamas's armed wing on Thursday vowed to avenge the killing of the party's interior minister martyr Said Siam by the Israeli occupation military in Gaza.

"His blood will not have been shed in vain," the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades said in a statement. "We will respond with actions, not words," it vowed.

15/01/2009 Once again, Hamas politburo chief Khlaed Meshaal played the role of raising the morale of the Palestinians, vowing that the Israeli enemy would be defeated at the end of the battle.

Speaking from Damascus, Meshaal reiterated that victory against the Zionist enemy is coming. "Gaza is writing a new chapter in history today, and the future will be different from the past," Meshaal declared.

Meshaal also noted that Israel thought it would end the situation with a blow from the air, but this is the 20th day and Israel hasn't achieved a thing. "It hasn't broken the resistance, hasn't dictated its conditions. Our losses are fewer than the ones on the Israeli side," he stressed.
