Egypt Regime: “Nasrallah is Iran’s Agent”

30/01/2009 An Egyptian regime source on Friday accused Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah of being an “agent to the Iranian regime” and that he takes his orders from Tehran.
In an official statement received by AFP, a “senior Egyptian official” said that Sayyed Nasrallah’s comments Thursday, “which included transgression and criticism to Egypt, undoubtedly prove once again his clear collaboration with the Iranian regime and his compliance with Tehran’s orders.”
The “source” added: “What Nasrallah reiterates about the ‘coercive’ role of the Egyptian mediation efforts between Israel and the Palestinians, in fact, unveils deep bitterness by all strained parties whose transgression of Egypt throughout the war on Gaza has failed to fulfill their desperate hopes to alter the pivotal role of Egypt regarding the Palestinians cause, which is dictated by history and consolidated by geography.”

Sayyed Nasrallah accused the Egyptian regime of taking part in the blockade of Gaza by keeping the Rafah crossing closed. The Hezbollah chief called for more pressure to open all crossings to the Strip.

The Egyptian statement claimed that Sayyed Nasrallah could not play any role to support Gaza, “because his regional allies did not let him so as not to confuse their calculations.”
The “source” added that “Nasrallah is still seeking, from his hideout and through his high tone, to put forward what he believes is support to the Palestinians.”
The statement also read: “Nasrallah’s audacity can only be understood in the larger framework that has been unveiled recently and through the demands by some Palestinian factions to Egypt that it drops the peace treaty signed with Israel and enters in a military confrontation again, after decades of peace.”

The “source” pointed that the “scheme that some have been implying to regarding the opening of the Rafah crossing for individuals and weapons and the support of the so called choice of resistance, was exposed in Egypt from the very beginning. Egypt was never to have been dragged behind a handful of naïve adventurers who trade the blood of innocent civilians for interest of some specific regional sides that are manipulating their fates and using them as fuel for their confrontation with a major power and for the interest of causes outlying the Palestinian cause.”
