Hezbollah Condemns Larsen's Assault on Resistance

Readers Number : 103

09/05/2009 Hezbollah condemned on Saturday UN special envoy to implement UNSCR 1559 Terej Roed Larsen's latest report, saying that the latter insists on showing his ugly picture from time to time through assailing Hezbollah and the Resistance at one side and pretending to care for Lebanese interests at the other.

In a statement it released, Hezbollah found strange Larsen's alleged care, recalling how the UN official adopts the Zionist stance in Lebanon and Palestine. "Through his statements, Larsen constitutes a cover that supports the criminal acts committed by the Israeli occupation in both countries," the statement read out.

While saying that it understands very well the role assigned to Larsen and company, Hezbollah called on the United Nations to safeguard what remains of its skinny reputation "because of its biased policies". The Resistance bloc also criticized the performance of some UN employees who are related to some suspicious circles that transformed the international organization into a tool.

Larsen: Hezbollah Must be Disarmed

07/05/2009 UN special envoy to implement UNSCR 1559 Terej Roed Larsen said that appointing two Ambassadors between Beirut and Damscus and the opening of two embassies in both countries were positive steps towards delineating the border between Lebanon and Syria.
Larsen who presented his latest report to the Security Council in New York said that Israel was breaching resolution 1559 by carrying out overflights in Lebanese airspace. He pointed that there was no progress on the issue of disarming Hezbollah which possesses large quantities of weapons to a terrifying degree. “The are alarming reports of large number of arms reaching those groups while Hezbollah leaders continued to assert that they have acquired more sophisticated military technology." Larsen added that Hezbollah was the only party that possesses weapons and that it should be disarmed.”

Larsen’s update report also claims that Hezbollah had planned to carry out "hostile operations" in Egypt while maintaining a significant force and weapon arsenals in Lebanon.
"The government of Egypt has shared with the UN secretary general a number of details concerning the plans, resources and actions of the cell as well and the material and devices confiscated," Roed- Larsen said in the report.

Israel’s Deputy Defense Minister Danny Ayalon told a senior United Nations official Thursday that he expects the international community to prevent Hezbollah from strengthening.
"Israel expects more decisive action from the international community to prevent Hezbollah from strengthening and to dismantle its weapons," Ayalon said.
He made the comments during a meeting with the head of the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations, Alan Le Roy.

Ayalon added that an Israeli withdrawal from the northern part of the village of Ghajar, on the Israeli-Lebanese border, is part of a newly-formulated government policy.
According to Israeli media, senior army officers from Lebanon, Israel and the United Nations will meet in two weeks to coordinate the withdrawal. The village was occupied by Israel during the 2006 war on Lebanon and falls under UNSC resolution 1701.

Comment

They are still after Hezbullah arms (Remember resolution 1559, then July 2006 war, and finally Hezbullah communication network crisis).

Most likely, if March14 movement win the election, Israel shall withdraw from Ghajar, to put Hezbullah arms on the table , being the last part of UNSC resolution 1701.

Moreover, don't be don't be fooled with the "credibility" of U.N.-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon after releasing the 4 Lebanese inocent Generals, Narallah called for to consider all possibilities, including the possibility of Israel being behind the assassination.

He said "Israel is capable of committing this crime. It has the motive, and it could have killed martyr Hariri, because it wanted a civil war in Lebanon in which Hezbollah and the Resistance would be a party in, so as to avenge its defeat in 2000 and its humiliating withdrawal from the South. Israel even wanted a regional war to pave the way for US armies to enter Lebanon and Syria and killing Hariri was their gateway"

I don't think the U.N.-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon shall consider any path leading to CIA and/or Mossad, or Qaeda.

Remember Mubarak fabricated charges against Hezbollah which paved the way to Larsen's Assault. I shall not be surprised to see the U.N.-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanom going after Hezbullah, and we may see many Hezbullah "LOVERS" saying: Hezbullah is capable of doing it, and may be there is another Sideque under making.

UPDATE

Mubarak is in "full speed ahead escalation" against Hezbollah

An Egyptian (Regime) version of events ....In the Daily Star, here

"..... since the unilateral Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon in May of that year, apprehension has been rising regarding the possibility that Hizbullah is redirecting its capabilities toward further destabilization of the region.

Hizbullah interference in other countries' internal affairs was bound to happen. Hizbullah ....was able to conceal the other dimensions integral to its identity. The ideology of Hizbullah commits the party to the goals and strategies of the revolutionary Islamic movement: transforming the nature of Middle East political systems and societies and the liberation of all of Palestine.....It was Gaza that gave the party a new opportunity to maintain its anti-Israel credentials.

..... US policy has been instrumental in granting Iran precious opportunities to further its influence in the region. The combined power of radical Islamism and the state of Iran expose moderates in the Middle East to tremendous pressure.

.....The strong Egyptian reaction to the arrest of Hizbullah's operatives in Egypt, however, indicates that Egypt's concerns and objectives go beyond the mere elimination of the illegal ring of Hizbullah's operatives. Egypt is apparently turning this incident into an opportunity to convict Hizbullah of committing the capital crime of tampering with the national security of a neighboring state....

...Egypt's strategy in handling the Hizbullah ring it captured seeks the achievement of a number of goals. On the domestic level, there is an attempt to capitalize on the incident to win back the support of segments of the Egyptian public that were lost to radical propaganda during the past few years.....The recent conflict in Gaza, in particular, was successfully employed by radicals to advance their supra-national cause. Winning the Egyptian public back to Egyptian nationalism is instrumental as a legitimating strategy......Egypt is interested in mobilizing the moderate Arab states against this Iranian and radical influence.

Egypt also seeks to contribute to stability by containing conflicts between radicals and moderates region-wide. Yet it is not satisfied with the terms of the nascent reconciliation between radicals and moderates in the Arab world. In particular Egypt, which was strongly targeted by the inflammatory radical propaganda of Hizbullah, Syria and Iran as they sought to mobilize the Egyptian public against its government and regime during the Gaza conflict, will not subscribe to a reconciliation that allows the radical forces to continue enjoying the same freedom of action as before."

Raad: Spy Cells Evidence that Israel Considering Waging War
Readers Number : 85

10/05/2009 Loyalty to the Resistance bloc head Mohammad Raad said voters participating in the June 7 parliamentary elections will choose between two contradictory projects.

During an electoral meeting on Sunday, Raad emphasized that “one of these projects wants Lebanon’s people and resistance to be strong and capable of confronting Israeli aggressions, whereas the other projects want the Lebanese to bury their heads in the sand and preach about coming peace in the region and that Israel does not want war.”

“Those who know the Israelis realize that they are waiting for the appropriate chance to attack Lebanon and the most significant proof of this are the Israeli spies that are being uncovered,” Raad said.

“If the Israelis are not considering waging war against Lebanon, why do they want information provided by these spies?” he asked. Raad said “those who want the nation to be stable should be reassured by the presence of a strong, capable and coherent resistance.”
