Fatah uses the besieged Gaza people’s suffering for partisan goals, Dialog session to be delayed at Fatah's request

Hamas affirms: Dialog session to be delayed till 25/8 at Fatah's request

[ 19/07/2009 - 04:33 PM ]

GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas on Sunday said that the national reconciliation dialog had been postponed till 25/8/2009 at the request of the Fatah faction.

Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, told the PIC that Fatah asked for postponement of the dialog from 25/7 to 25/8, which was approved by both movements.

He noted that the sessions held on Saturday and Sunday did not result in any positive outcome including the issue of political detention.

The spokesman underlined that Fatah's rejection to abide by a commitment to end the detention file and refusal of the Egyptian proposals, which Hamas accepted, regarding the joint factions committee and joint security forces, had obstructed the probability of any success.

Fatah re-tabled former files that were already discussed such as the formation of a national unity government committed to the international quartet committee's conditions, which was refused by Hamas and the issue was closed.

Abu Zuhri said that Fatah's step reflected an attempt to retain the dialog revolving in a hollow circle, which indicates that Fatah was not concerned with any dialog or effort to achieve national reconciliation.

Taha: Fatah uses the besieged Gaza people’s suffering for partisan goals

[ 20/07/2009 - 10:25 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas official Ayman Taha said Sunday that Fatah faction takes advantage of the continued suffering of Gaza people caused by the Israeli blockade in order to achieve partisan goals.

In a press statement to the Quds satellite channel, Taha affirmed that Fatah reluctantly deals with the national dialog and hamper any hope to reach a reconciliation agreement.

He noted that Fatah leaders know that the achievement of reconciliation means that the siege could be lifted and consequently there would be economic recovery, so they believe that ending the suffering of Gaza people would be a success for Hamas and electoral propaganda for it.

In another context, hundreds of armed men affiliated with the Palestinian Authority (PA) in Ramallah carried out Sunday evening wide raids on citizens' homes in Tulkarem refugee camp and kidnapped two members of Hamas in Tulkarem district.

Local sources reported that a large number of PA militia men stormed the refugee camp and encircled entire neighborhoods, adding that they stormed homes indiscriminately and barbarically. The raids were still ongoing at the time of receiving this report.

In a related context, Khalid Abu Hilal, the secretary-general of Al-Ahrar Movement, said that the political arrests taking place in the West Bank comes in the context of implementing an explicit plan to liquidate the Palestinian resistance

In a press interview conducted by the Palestinian information center (PIC), Abu Hilal stated that this serious scheme was stipulated by the PA security agreements with Israel, warning that this scheme poses a real danger to the Palestinian people and their national cause.

He also affirmed that the disclosure of serious documents by the secretary general of Fatah’s central committee Farouq Al-Qaddoumi, which illustrated the involvement of Mahmoud Abbas and Mohamed Dahlan in the assassination of late Palestinian president Yasser Arafat and resistance leaders, confirmed previous charges made against them in this regard.

The Movement’s head, a former Fatah member, urged the honest men in Fatah to rise and break their silence to restore their “abducted” movement.

He noted that Fatah is controlled by a bunch of employees working for the Israeli occupation and who are hostage to American agendas, and have nothing to do with the struggle of the Palestinian people.
