AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Militias loyal to former PA chief and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday kidnapped two Palestinian young men in Beit Ummar village, Al-Khalil district, for affiliation with the Islamic Jihad Movement.

The Movement issued a statement saying that the PA security forces in the West Bank had asked families of two other activists to give themselves in.

It added that those forces had abducted brother of a martyr, who was held in Israeli occupation authority jails (IOA), two days ago.

The statement said that a number of prisoners in IOA prisons said that Abbas's intelligence agents had asked their brothers and relatives about any information regarding those prisoners including arms caches.

Islamic Jihad denounced such practice, describing it as "unethical".

Those militias on Saturday detained Hamas supporter Basem Al-Hamshari in Tulkarem after storming his place of work. He was released from those militias' jails only a month ago.

The illegitimate government of Salam Fayyad in Ramallah also on Saturday dismissed a teacher in Sa'ir to the north of Al-Khalil for his political affiliation, locals reported.

Abbas militias block family visits to detained Hamas supporters

BETHLEHEM, (PIC)-- Militias of the former PA chief and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas have been banning family visits to Hamas detainees in Bethlehem for one month, the official website of Hamas in the West Bank Umama said on Sunday.

It quoted relatives of those detainees as saying that no reason was given to them for the visit ban, expressing fears that it might point to torture being exercised against them.

The website recalled that news of torture had leaked prior to the ban on visits, noting that Abbas's militias were pursuing the same policy of the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) in banning visitations.

Abbas's militias had intensified the arrest of Hamas supporters in Bethlehem district recently including detainees freed from IOA jails.

Sources in the city of Bethlehem said that Abbas's security had asked the IOA to release a number of administratively held detainees in order to interrogate them in those militias' jails.
