The Arabs48 news Website reported that a Zionist organization calling itself Ha-Shomer Ha-Hadash (The New Guard), held a meeting on Thursday to ‘counter’ what they described as ‘the Arab embezzling of Israeli lands in the Negev and the Galilee”.

The group disregarded the fact that the lands in question are owned by the Arabs, and called for bringing more Jewish settlers to live in the Galilee and the Negev.

One of the members of the group is Brig. Gen. Ram Shmoeli; he said that ‘Israel has a national task to preserve 4 million Dunams (nearly 988421 Acres) before they are fully stolen by the Arabs”, according to Shmoeli.

The group was formed two years ago by Yoel Zilberman, 24, a settler living in Moshav Tzipory, which was built on the ruins of Saforia Arab village. It now includes nearly 300 members who believe that they are ‘guarding the Jewish lands in the Negev and the Galilee’.

It wants to have 2000 members by the year 2012.

The meeting, entitled ‘Who will save my home’, was called for by members of Knesset, Yisrael Hason, and Minister Moshe Yaalon, but Yaalon could not attend as he got tied in a meeting with Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

The organizers said that ‘the problem is that only %40 of the residents in the Negev are Jewish while the government in planning to increase the Jewish presence there to %45 by 2010″.

Erez Eshil, one of the members of the group, said that Israel must bring thousands of settlers to the Galilee “or else we will lose it”, according to Eshil.

He added that the State of Israel must be worried about the increasing number of Arabs, and described them as cancer.

“If Israel fails to realize that this is the cancer, then we will have no state at all”, he added.

On his part, Brig. Ram Shmoeli, said that Israel will lose gradually lose the Negev, and added that “this land was not occupied by a soldier, but by a farmer, and the state must act to save it”.
