OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Sheikh Raed Salah, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Palestine occupied in 1948, has held the Palestinian Authority responsible for failing to protect the Aqsa Mosque.
He said in a press statement that the PA was racing behind negotiations with the Israeli premier while conspiracies were being hatched against the holy site.
Salah said that the Arab and Islamic countries are also responsible for the repeated Zionist storming of the Aqsa Mosque because they let the Palestinians down and did not support their defense of the holy site.
The Islamic leader said that the Israeli occupation government shoulders the topmost responsibility for any harm done to the Aqsa Mosque.
For his part, Hamas MP Sheikh Hamed Al-Beitawi, who was once a preacher at the Aqsa Mosque, said in a statement on Sunday that resistance is the only road to liberate the holy site and Jerusalem.
He held the Ramallah authority responsible for its security coordination with the Israeli occupation against resistance in the West Bank.
Hamas political bureau member and lawmaker Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya voiced similar remarks in a press interview saying that armed resistance is the only means of curbing Israeli violations against the holy site.
