Tibi: Israel is plagued with racism

NAZARETH, (PIC)-- Arab member of the Israeli Knesset (parliament) Ahmed Al-Tibi has charged that Israel was plagued with a germ called racism and that the first and foremost victim of that racism is the Arab population.
Tibi, the leader of the united Arab list's parliamentary bloc and deputy speaker, was speaking during a Knesset session to discuss growing violence and schools' refusal to admit Jews of Ethiopian origin.
He questioned the members' opposition to racism against those Jews while ignoring the blatant racism against Arab citizens and against certain Arab villages, which are not recognized by the state.
Tibi also lashed out at the Israeli education minister for canceling the term Nakba (catastrophe) from school curriculums when discussing the creation of Israel on the land of Palestine.
He described the term as a "national and human value", explaining that demolishing homes and displacing their owners and destroying the life of an entire people and expelling them from their lands is a humanitarian and national tragedy hence the term Nakba.
