AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnapped eight Palestinian and foreign activists during a peaceful march organized in support of the Palestinian farmers in the village of Imar Ard, south of Al-Khalil city and near the settlement of Bahrthaha and Tashebha.
Palestinian farmers said that IOF troops rounded up the participants after they insisted on moving forward in the march.
The eyewitnesses added that the troops used their rifle butts and batons to beat the participants which led to many severe and slight injuries among them, affirming that the troops expelled the activists from the area by force at the pretext that their presence posed a threat to the security of settlements.
This march was organized in the context of the activities held south of Al-Khalil to support farmers and enable them to harvest and cultivate their lands near the Israeli settlements and the apartheid wall built on vast areas of Palestinian land.
Meanwhile, during an Israeli military raid on the town of Aqraba, southeast of Nablus city, the IOF troops reportedly kidnapped three Palestinian citizens released recently from Mahmoud Abbas’s jails. The three citizens were kidnapped in coordination with Abbas’s militias in the city.
Different West Bank areas especially Ramallah, Nablus and Qalqiliya also witnessed kidnapping campaigns, but they were carried out this time by Abbas’s militias who kidnapped in the context of their security cooperation with Israel seven Palestinian citizens during the past two days.
Abbas’s militias also refused to release former head of the student council at the university of Al-Najah Mohamed Khadr despite the presence of a court decision to release him.
