RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Nasser Al-Qudwa, member of Fatah's central committee, has acknowledged Thursday that Mahmoud Abbas, the leader of Fatah, was the one to blame for delaying a UN vote on the Goldstone report that could have indicted Israel with war crimes.

In a televised interview with Al-Arabeyya satellite TV channel Thursday night, Qudwa confirmed that the allegations accusing Arab countries of playing a role in the decision weren’t true, and that the decision was made by the Ramallah-based PA under Abbas.

"It is understood that once there is a decision taken regarding the Palestinian issue, the decision is made and taken by the PA, which has the final word in such matters", Qudwa pointed out.

However, he acknowledged that Abbas and the PA in Ramallah have committed a big mistake by postponing the UN vote on that "important" report of Goldstone, alluding to strong US pressure on Abbas and the PA relating to the peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis in this regard.

Qudwa, however, tried to find reasons to exonerate his boss (Abbas), alleging that when Abbas talked about Arab role favoring the adjournment he was speaking based on "false" information fed to him by "certain officials in the PA who weren’t aware of what was happening".

According to Palestinian observes, Abbas's decision, which angered millions of Palestinians across the world, has wasted a "golden chance" for the Palestinians to indict the Zionist entity of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip during the Israeli war on it last January.
