DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Ezzet Al-Resheq, political bureau member of Hamas, has called on the participants in the fifth general conference of Arab parties held in Damascus to discuss means of restoring the Arab depth to the Palestine cause in deeds rather than words.
Resheq, in a press statement on Wednesday that coincided with the start of the conference, said that the meeting is held at a time the judaization of Jerusalem was on the rise while targeting the Aqsa, enlarging the settlements in the West Bank and besieging Gaza were still in full force.
He also pointed to the Palestinian split, which, he said, represented the cornerstone in (American) General Keith Dayton's plan to eliminate resistance and impose a settlement according to Zionist conditions.
Resheq asked the Arab countries and parties to extend material and political support for the Palestine cause to boost the Palestinian people's steadfastness especially in occupied Jerusalem and to act on breaking the siege on Gaza and allow its reconstruction.
The Hamas leader also advocated prosecuting Israeli leaders for crimes against the Palestinians and pressuring the American administration into endorsing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital and with the return of refugees to their homeland.
