Israeli strategy is to dispossess Palestinians of their remaining land
[ 11/12/2009 - 01:47 PM ]
TUBAS, (PIC)-- The Land Research Center said, in a report on Friday, that the Netanyahu government started dealing with area (C) in the West Bank as lands annexed to Israel or lands for settlement expansion.
The LRC published a report as the deadline given to Palestinians whose buildings, in the village Aqaba to the east of Tubas in the Jordan valley, are threatened with demolition ran out on Thursday 10 December 2009.
Director of the Center, Jamal al-Emleh, said that what is happening at the village proves anew that Israel aims to empty the land of its Palestinian owners and replace them with Jewish settlers.
He also stated in the report that the Israeli military institution, the settlement institution and the legal institution complement one another in creating the scenarios for demolishing Palestinian homes and confiscating Palestinian land under various pretexts.
The report said that the Israeli occupation authorities have issued nine demolition notices to residents of the village of Aqaba, adding that an Israeli military force entered the village towards the end of November along with Israeli officials from the civic planning department and handed the notices to the owners saying that the respective buildings fall in area (C) and thus need construction permits from the Israeli occupation authorities.
