NABLUS, (PIC)-- Senior Hamas official Rafat Nasif condemned Tuesday Mahmoud Abbas’s security apparatuses for harassing Palestinian lawmaker Mona Mansour and her family in Nablus as a cowardly and mean act.
In a letter leaked from Israeli jails, Nasif called on Fatah faction to declare its position clearly towards the practices of its security apparatuses and curb their violations in the West Bank.
For its part, the Palestinian ministry of justice in Gaza deplored Abbas’s militias for breaking into and ransacking the house of MP Mansour, considering what happened a flagrant violation of the parliamentary immunity enjoyed by elected Palestinian lawmakers and of all national norms and ethics.
The ministry of justice stressed in a statement that these ongoing attacks on Palestinian lawmakers, their families, homes and offices come in the context of what it called the abhorrent security coordination with the Israeli occupation.
The ministry held Mahmoud Abbas and his security apparatuses fully responsible for this wanton attack on MP Mansour, calling for bringing the perpetrators to trial.
The ministry also called on the human rights and law institutions to expose these violations against Palestinian lawmakers and intervene to stop them.
It appealed in its statement to all Arab and Muslim countries, the Arab League, and the organization of Islamic conference to intervene and pressure Abbas to stop the violations of his security apparatuses against lawmakers.
