OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- The Israel Today newspaper said Sunday that US president Barack Obama signed, before his departure to the global climate summit in Copenhagen, the foreign aid budget for 2010, which includes, for the first time, $500 million to the Palestinian Authority (PA).
$100 million of this aid granted to the PA will be used by US officer Keith Dayton, who is in charge of training the PA security forces in the West Bank.
The aid will be handed over to the Palestinians under the condition that this money will only be transferred to a Palestinian government whose ministers accept the conditions of the international quartet.
The budget also pledges 2.775 billion dollars in security aid to the Israeli occupation.
In another context, confidential documents issued by one of the PA security apparatuses revealed that Abbas’s militias kept a number of Palestinian resistance fighters especially from Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, under constant surveillance before reporting their activities to the Israeli occupation.
The Palestinian information center (PIC) obtained copies of these documents which were leaked by computer hackers. These documents indicate that this PA security apparatus used to be active in Rafah area, south of the Gaza Strip.
One of the documents points out to the names of some Qassam leaders under surveillance, their ID information, the nature of their work, the types and colors of their cars and their organizational ranks.
In a new development, Abbas’s militias kidnapped during the last two days 14 Palestinian citizens affiliated with Hamas in the districts of Nablus, Tulkarem, Al-Khalil and Qalqiliya.
It was also reported that a prisoner in Abbas’s jails called Abdelkarim Ayad, from Bethlehem, was transferred to hospital as a result of his exposure to excruciating torture.
