02/12/2009 Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah received on Wednesday a delegation from the Hamas Palestinian Resistance Movement led by Mohamad Nasr accompanied by Oussama Hamdan and Mounir Said. The meeting was also attended by Hezbollah political council member Hasan Hodroj.
According to a statement released by Hezbollah media relations, the meeting was an opportunity to review the international and regional situation in light of the confusion the US administration is experiencing in its approach to the crises arising from its aggressive policies in our Arab and Islamic region, particularly its blatant bias and full coverage of the Israeli stances and practices against the Palestinian people, their rights and interests.
Both sides also expressed satisfaction with the Lebanese national achievement accomplished through the formation of the government of national reconciliation, and the completion of drafting the ministerial statement.
They also pointed to the importance that the Lebanese-Palestinian dialogue be resumed in the upcoming stage with the spirit of seeking to build the best relations through which common interests for the two nations could be attained according to a vision based on the two sides' adherence to the Right of Return and to the objection to settlement projects as well as the achievement of a descent living for the Palestinians in a way that suits their humanitarian situation, preserves their identity, personality and cause.
The Hamas delegation also congratulated Hezbollah for completing its eighth General Conference and approving its political manifesto. It highlighted the importance of the manifesto's content and its significance in such an important phase in our nation's history.
