BEIRUT, (PIC)-- Two members of the Hamas Movement were killed and three others wounded in the explosion that targeted a car for the Movement in southern Beirut on Saturday.

Well informed sources denied in a statement to the PIC that one of the Hamas political leaders in the Lebanese arena was killed in the incident.

Hamas leader Ali Baraka told PIC's correspondent in Beirut in a phone call that he was not the target of the explosion as speculated by some media outlets.

Hamas also said that its representative in Lebanon, Osama Hamadan, is out of the country and could not have been the target of the explosion.

Lebanese security sources said that the blast on Saturday night targeted a car belonging to a Hamas cadre and that at least one casualty was suffered.

Hizbullah security men cordoned off the area of the blast as ambulance vehicles were seen rushing to the area.

The sources said that the investigations are being carried out on site but no official word is out yet on the casualties.
