GAZA, (PIC)-- MP Jamal Al-Khudari, the head of the popular committee against the siege, has welcomed the Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov's call for ending the siege on Gaza and halting the Israeli settlement drive in Palestinian lands.
Khudari, in a statement on Tuesday, said that such statements were appreciated but after four years of siege they are no longer enough. He added that the siege should be broken in practice.
The call for ending the siege should be coupled with boycotting Israel on the diplomatic and economic levels until the siege is lifted and the reconstruction of Gaza Strip is initiated, the MP underscored.
He renewed the call on the Europeans to pressure Israel into ending the siege, opening commercial crossings and allowing entry of construction, health and raw materials into Gaza.
