GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestinian legislative council (PLC) said that a 26-member delegation of Arab parliamentarians is due in the Gaza Strip at noon Monday on a two-day visit to the beleaguered Strip.

The PLC chairmanship in a statement on Sunday said that Dr. Ahmed Bahar, the first deputy speaker of the PLC, would head a parliamentary team to receive the lawmakers at the Rafah crossing.

It added that a joint press conference would be held at the Rafah terminal before the delegates commence their tour of Gaza.

The Arab MPs are scheduled to meet with their Palestinian counterparts at the PLC headquarters in addition to visiting the council of ministers and areas destroyed in the Israeli war on Gaza.

They would also meet with representatives of national factions, families of prisoners, the committee documenting Israeli war crimes, civil organizations and victims of the war and would also visit the Islamic University.

The PLC described the visit as important and historic and would boost the morale of the Gaza inhabitants.
