17/02/2010 Senior Fatah official Mohammed Dahlan on Tuesday accused Israel of waging a war on the Palestinian Authority and its leader.
According to Dahlan, "We are convinced that Israel is engaging in a secret and public war, simultaneously, against the Palestinian Authority and against President Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas) and against the sane voice among the Palestinian people."
According to Dahlan, "We are convinced that Israel is engaging in a secret and public war, simultaneously, against the Palestinian Authority and against President Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas) and against the sane voice among the Palestinian people."
Dahlan made the remarks during a visit to a television station affiliated with Fatah. Dahlan, a member of the movement's Central Committee who is in charge of the communications portfolio, added that the war he was referring to had reached the media in the past few days.
He condemned the fact that Israel would not allow the entry of equipment belonging to a Palestinian TV station, saying that "this shows Israel is not interested in a partner and is not interested in a sane Palestinian neighbor. It seeks more anarchy in order to destroy what is left of the PA and the Palestinian land, but our persistence and adhesion to the land will surprise Israel."
Meanwhile Tuesday, Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad dismissed his justice minister, education minister and agriculture minister, the Ma’an news agency reported. Their replacements have yet to be named.
Palestinian Interior Minister Saeed Abu Ali was appointed head of Abbas' bureau instead of Rafik al-Husseini, who was dismissed following a sex and corruption scandal exposed last week.
