GAZA, (PIC)-- Palestinian prime minister Ismail Haneyya has discussed the Palestinian affairs and the file of the national reconciliation with a delegation from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) on Sunday, sources in the PA government revealed.
In a statement issued by the government, Haneyya and the PFLP delegation discussed the dangers engulfing the Palestinian issue, and agreed to the urgent need to consolidate Palestinian ranks in order to protect the national constants of the Palestinian people.
The two sides also deliberated the file of national reconciliation and the best ways and mechanisms to achieve it being an imperative demand for the Palestinian people.
Meanwhile, armed groups believed to be from the Fatah-dominated PA security forces fired at the house of Palestinian legislator Emad Nofal of Hamas Movement in Qalqilia on Sunday night. No casualties were reported in the attack.
However, local sources opined that the attack was a message to Nofal and the rest of the Islamic Movement lawmakers not to mingle with the Palestinian public and not to practice any activities that might help their constituents.
Nofal, for his part, deprecated the incident because it came at a time Hamas tries to melt the ice between it and Fatah and to build confidence between them, accusing the perpetrators of aiming at spoiling the positive atmosphere created by the visit of Fatah official Nabil Sha'ath to Gaza.
