OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) detained eight Jerusalemite youths in Silwan town, south of the Aqsa Mosque, on Monday following violent confrontations, local sources reported.
They said that the IOF troops stormed the town at night and detained the eight including juveniles and released four of them at a late hour on Monday night who were less than 12 years old.
The sources noted that tension was running high in Silwan following the incident in anticipation of IOA and fanatic settlers' attacks.
Citizens in Bustan suburb, adjacent to the Aqsa Mosque, said that inhabitants clashed with fanatic settlers who were joined by Israeli police and border guards that dispersed the citizens using stun grenades and teargas bombs.
Meanwhile, IOF soldiers served notices to ten Palestinian families in Bani Naim village, Al-Khalil district, on Monday that their homes would be demolished at the pretext of building in area C under Israeli control according to the Oslo agreements.
The citizens said that the demolition at a time the indirect talks between the Ramallah authority and the Israeli occupation authority had started was a gift to the Palestinian negotiator.
In another incident of violation of Palestinian citizens and property, Jewish settlers on Monday burnt cultivated land lots in Jet village, Qalqilia district, on Monday and assaulted farmers.
Eyewitnesses said that a big number of settlers set on fire five dunums of cultivated fields in the afternoon.
