GAZA, (PIC)-- Fawzi Barhoum, a Hamas spokesman, said on Monday that the Palestinian resistance attack south of Al-Khalil earlier today displayed failure of security coordination between PA in Ramallah and the Israeli occupation.

He said in a press release that resistance was the sole means of deterring occupation, protecting the people, and regaining rights.

Barhoum said that occupation has no other choice but "to leave our land and halt targeting our people and holy shrines".

A previously unknown group calling itself the Freedom Flotilla Martyrs group declared responsibility for the daring operation that targeted an Israeli border police patrol south of Al-Khalil city.

The group said that its members would never give up arms as long as occupation remained on Palestinian land.
