QALQILIA, (PIC)-- Sheikh Sameh Afana, a member of the Qalqilia elected municipal council, was rushed to hospital from one of the jails run by Mahmoud Abbas's militias in the West Bank after his condition worsened due to severe torture.
Reliable sources told the PIC reporter on Monday that Sheikh Afana, 38, was subjected to savage torture rounds at the hands of Abbas's militias that seriously caused his health condition to worsen.
A Fatah-controlled court in the West Bank a few weeks ago recommended increasing torture rounds against him.
Meanwhile, those militias continued their campaign of arrests in lines of Hamas supporters in the West Bank and rounded up 8 citizens in the districts of Nablus, Ramallah, and Al-Khalil over the past 24 hours.
Local sources on Tuesday said that those militias arrested Najeh Asy, who was released from Israeli jails only a few days ago, and his three brothers in Beit Lakia village, Ramallah district, after wreaking havoc in their homes.
Sources close to Asy's family said that he was immediately carried to hospital after his arrest because of the excruciating torture he was subjected to on detention.
