NABLUS, RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- A number of Jewish settlers on Thursday uprooted more than 50 olive trees near the village of Burin to the south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

One of the Palestinian farmers said that settlers told the IOF troops that the land belongs to them and that the Palestinian farmers assaulted them prompting the IOF troops to expel the Palestinian farmers from their fields.

Meanwhile, Jewish settlers torched olive groves of a large area in the village of Safa to the West of Ramallah on Wednesday evening.

The Popular Committee for Resisting the wall and settlement said that about 70 dunums (1 Dunum= 1000 Square meters) was torched by the settlers and that the IOF stopped fire engines and the local residents from reaching the fields to put out the fires.
