AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) wounded two photojournalists and a detained a third in Beit Ummar village, Al-Khalil district, on Saturday while quelling a weekly peaceful anti wall march.
Media sources said that the IOF troops fired sonic and gas bombs directly at the demonstrators hitting Mohammed Qusini, Reuters cameraman, with a sonic bomb in his right shoulder and ear.
They added that Hazem Bader, AFP cameraman, was hit with another bomb in his left foot while Ahmed Abu Hashem, the secretary of the national anti wall committee in the village, was hit with shrapnel of a sound bomb in the face and right shoulder.
The sources noted that IOF soldiers detained Iyad Hamad, the AP cameraman, and severely beat participants including a Danish solidarity activist.
The soldiers blocked the marchers from heading to the cultivated land near the settlement of Karmi Tzur, declaring through loudspeakers that the land is a closed military zone.
In another incident in Al-Khalil, Jewish settlers in the city assaulted a number of citizens and injured one of them in the Old City of Al-Khalil on Saturday.
