GAZA, (PIC)-- The Prisoners’ Studies Center said Israeli authorities have recently stepped up arrests and night raids in city outskirts and villages around the West Bank, occasionally abducting Palestinians around the Gaza Strip.
The prisoners’ center in a statement on Tuesday said they learned this from daily, monthly, and annual reports issued by human rights organizations, underlining that no day passes without new arrests, the count of which has reached 4320 this year, an average of 12 cases per day.
The center’s director Raafat Hamdouna said there are approximately 6,800 prisoners in Israeli jails, despite constant releases, in the aftermath of the escalation in arrests.
“These Zionist violations, practices, and procedures are in need of a stop and protest in more than one way,” Hamdouna said, calling on international organizations for immediate intervention to stop the arrests, a move that can be done through filing international claims against Israel and exposing the violations to the world, which is deceived by the claim that Israel is “the only democracy in the region” that protects human rights!
