JAFFA, (PIC)-- Al-Aqsa Foundation for endowments and heritage renovated the Rubin mosque in the city of Jaffa and Lod after violations against it by Israeli settlers and attempts to transform it into a synagogue.

“The restoration process, which came with the participation of dozens of members of the Islamic movement inside the Palestinian territories occupied in ‘48, comes to confirm the sacredness and Islamic identity of the mosque,” explained Mohammed Ashkar, a member in the foundation in a press release on Sunday.

“We will never allow the mosque to be converted into a Jewish synagogue, and we will address all attempts of some Jewish groups to control it and establish their religious symbols inside it,” he added.

Ashkar said Israeli soldiers from a nearby military training camp drink wine and commit other indecent acts inside the mosque.
