GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas leader Dr. Ismail Radwan said Saturday evening that the Fatah-controlled authority in Ramallah's fierce campaign of arrests against Hamas leaders and supporters in the West Bank “shows the double role it plays with Israel aimed at destroying the Palestinian resistance”.
“The arrest and abduction of Hamas leaders and supporters in the West Bank to coincide with the holy month of Ramadan asserts that the Fatah authority has linked its fate with the enemy, and flouts all efforts exerted to achieve inter-Palestinian reconciliation,” the Hamas leader noted.
“Fatah arrests resistance fighters as a price for starting negotiations with occupation giving its external agenda precedence over the internal Palestinian agenda and achieving reconciliation,” he added.
Abbas’s militia has kidnapped more than 15 Hamas leaders and supporters in Ramallah, Salfit, and Nablus, including last week’s arrest of Najah national university professors Dr. Khader Sawandak and Dr. Farid Abdul-Latif Abu Dhuheir.
