AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Families of kidnapped Hamas members and supporters incarcerated in the PA jails asserted Thursday that their sons were exposed to severe forms of torture and for long hours.

Over the past three years, thousands of Hamas leaders and supporters in the West Bank were arrested by the militia of Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank for resisting the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

According to the families, the administration of Al-Khalil prison exercises tremendous psychological pressure on their sons, and banned them from communicating with their relatives although they live close to them.

The families also confirmed that many of their sons have release orders from Palestinian Supreme Court since long time but the militia of Abbas refused to heed the court's orders to free them till now.

Moreover, the families of the kidnapped citizens accused the jail officers and guards of humiliating them every time they come to visit their sons or to know anything about them and their health conditions inside the prisons.

"My husband was exposed to severe torture sessions…. one of the jail guards who is a relative of mine told me that my husband and his comrades were exposed to intolerable psychological pressure without mercy", said wife of a kidnapped Hamas member.

"On top of kidnapping my son, they deprive me from seeing and visiting him…. Every time we go for a visit, the jail officer promised us to see him within ten minutes but we kept on waiting for five or six hours but to no avail…. They are dealing with us as if we were objects in their hand", mother of another kidnapped Hamas member confirmed.

The frenzied arrest campaigns against Hamas members by Abbas's militia intensified during the holy month of Ramadan after the attack that killed four Israeli settlers in Al-Khalil city in a bid to arrest the attackers.

Israeli settlers in Al-Khalil city are known for their savage and brutal attacks on Palestinian citizens, homes, and farms in the city.
