Hamas urges West Bankers to confront Israeli settlers

[ 22/09/2010 - 04:56 PM ]

WEST BANK, (PIC)-- The Hamas Movement called on the Palestinian people in the West Bank to stand up in the face of Israeli settlers and protect their lands and holy sites.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Hamas said that a bunch of Israeli settlers yesterday stole olive harvest from Palestinians' agricultural lands in Burin village, southeast of Nablus city, another gang of them stormed today Al-Ibrahimi school in Al-Khalil city while others on the same day attacked Silwan residents killing one of them.

In light of these violations, Hamas called on de facto president Mahmoud Abbas and his negotiation team to stop their frivolous peace talks that became a cover for Israel's violations and its settlers' crimes in the West Bank.

It also urged the Arab League to revoke the political cover it gave to the Palestinian Authority for its direct talks with Israelis so as to protect the Palestinian people and their interests against Israel and its settlers.
