Palestinians in the US Shun Mahmoud Abbas, Arab-Americans Must Disassociate From All Arab Regimes

Abbas meeting with representatives of 50 Zionist racist organizations on 9-21-2010 in New York City

While the Anti-Palestine Task Force of Ziad Asali, the Washington public relations arm of the Israeli-sponsored, Western-Funded, and American-Supervised Palestine National Authority (PNA) prepares for its upcoming Gala, Palestinian Americans refused to meet with Mahmoud Abbas or associate with the PNA.  After reports surfaced in the US media this week about an alleged meeting between Mahmoud Abbas, the quisling head of the collaborationist regime in occupied-Palestine, and the Palestinian American community, the US Palestinian Community Network issued this statement which includes the following:

“We in the US Palestinian Community Network, in the interests of the whole truth and in defense of the rights of our people, hereby declare to our people that this alleged meeting did not happen and we deny categorically that Mr. Mahmoud Abbas has met with representatives of the Palestinian community in the United States…The meeting which took place in New York was between Abu Mazen and a few elements that do not exceed the fingers of one hand, supporters of the Palestinian Authority and some staff members at the mission offices in New York and Washington, DC. The only community that met with Mr. Mahmoud Abbas during his visit to New York was the Jewish community, attended by representatives of 50 Zionist racist organizations…The Palestinian community in the United States refuses to associate with the Palestinian Authority represented by Abbas and its disastrous policies and has expressed this position repeatedly on more than one occasion…”

We at Ikhras express our support for our Palestinian brothers and sisters in the United States, and salute their principled decision to disassociate from the PNA and all of its representatives whether they reside in Washington DC permanently or on an official visit to the US after departing occupied Palestine with Israeli permission and a “VIP” pass.

We also call on other Arab-Americans to follow this example and disassociate from all collaborationist Arab regimes which are just as beholden to American and Zionist diktats and desires as the PNA.  It is politically and morally unacceptable for any Arab-American individuals or organizations to maintain any association with the representatives, embassies, or officials of any of the Arab police-states, all of which are unelected, illegitimate dictatorships that have betrayed Palestine and Iraq while they ruthlessly oppress Arab citizens.  Due to geo-political considerations and their American-assigned roles in the Arab world, it is especially critical to condemn, and disassociate from the Egyptian, Jordanian, and Saudi regimes.

The next time His Majesty, His Royal Highness, His Excellency, anyone else’s Eminence or their wives visit the United States they shouldn’t find a single Arab-American willing to sit with them.  If we can restrict their schedules in the US to meetings with pro-Israel politicians, US officials, members of Zionist organizations, and Wolf Blitzer that will truly signal the beginning of an authentic, grassroots effort to mobilize and empower Arab-Americans.  In the meantime we expect Ziad Asali and James Zogby will continue to put on their favorite black-tie tuxedo, organize galas, and pose for pictures with Abdullah, Turki, Walid, Bandar, Noor, and Rania.
